Pelai — Restaurant in Barcelona

Tonight was our second evening dining Pelai. It was fabulous. The first night, I had the duck and my friend had the scallops best food ever with the best service ever the next evening I had the filet mignon and my friend had gnocchi. Another amazing meal served by an amazing staff. We had the same wait staff each evening. Kimverly, Paula, Aziz and Roberto each brought their own expertise to our meal. They made our dining experience so enjoyable that we are going back for a third evening tomorrow. On our first evening, the wheelchair lift didn’t work, and Roberto actually walked us around the block to the back entrance so we could enter the restaurant. By the next evening the lift had been repaired. That is amazing Service! We are sad knowing that tomorrow, Kimverly will not be there. But we are ecstatic to know that Paula, Aziz and Roberto will be there...

I visited this restaurant with my wife (she’s vegetarian) and I must say I was blown away. I used to come here months ago, but stopped because the food felt frozen, reheated, and the menu was poor — especially with no vegetarian options. This time, passing by hungry, we decided to give it another chance… and what a surprise! The new menu is fantastic, full of fresh and varied dishes. The quality is outstanding, the plating elegant — like something out of the Michelin guide. My wife enjoyed a cherry tomato salad with burrata foam that was absolutely perfect. I had the vitello tonnato with tuna foam and then a corvina that was simply the best fish I’ve ever had in my life. Truly another level. I have never written a restaurant review before but now i felt the need to.

The restaurant feels fancy but it really isnt, the food was okay but the service was awful. When we arrived the servants looked at us like we didnt belong there and they were really cold to us. We didnt feel welcome at all and the personel was rude and agressive or they just completely ignored us. They told us how to say espresso in spain in a very very rude way.

They came with agressive comments to our daughter from nowhere. We had already ordered two espressos and just commented that and she responded with ”excuse me” in a way a servent should never ever say to a guest.

I dont want anyone to be treated like this, you cant treat people the way they do, I hope no one will visit this...
