Pikio Taco — Restaurant in Barcelona

I attempted to get service twice - once on a very busy night to be told there were no tables, to which I was then yelled at and told no tables even when I asked for takeaway. The second time, it was 15:30 and empty. I entered with no greeting from any staff, sat down at the table and went up to order to be told to sit down and that she would come to me. This was repeated in spanish numerous times but had no logic as I could place an order at the counter, seeing as we were waiting an absurd amount of time as the staff member was standing around talking to her friends. Two local spanish girls entered and were greeted nicely and immediately the staff member went to serve them with her ipad, entirely ignoring my friend and I who were waiting for 10 minutes minimum for service. I believe there is a preference to spanish locals over tourists - despite me not being only english speaking and apparently so. Please consider removing your association to the generator, as that is a hostel that services tourists, and pikio taco is not an inviting nor welcoming establishment for anyone who isn’t of spanish decent. WOW! I came to Pikio Taco today, and I am speechless. This is my 3rd time in Barcelona and I have been on the search for a delicious taco place. This restaurant did not disappoint.

Let me start with Jose! He was so patient with me, because I am very indecisive and I want to try everything..so he gave me incredible taco recommendations. His favorites were the carnitas and birria. I said “surprise me” and he did just that. I had Carnitas and Tijuana, delicious!

Second, Miss Virmania, OH MY GOD. She was so sweet and you can tell that she’s passionate about making sure the guests have a great food experience when you come in. She was the one cooking the tacos, and she definitely made them with love! 🙃

Lastly, you cannot leave without getting a frozen margarita. Tajin on the rim, is a must! They also let me test a quesadilla dessert, which was to die for!

(November 24) Was there for Holidays and found out because a friend of mine bought some tacos there for a quick meal. She asked if i want to try because after smelling i was looking over all the time, one bite and i was very very happy that she bought some in, Next day i went there and was waiting for the Shop to open. The Lady was amazing, funny and very nice to us, She told us we have to wait because of the rain at night to fix some water leaks, She was happy that we stayed outside and was like: aww you really want some tacos huh? OF COURSE we was! Ordered some and just fell im love with the taste, the bar feeling of the shop and just the feeling was right. Thanks a lot for the experience, my friends and I really really loved it, the food, the service 10/10, All the best for the nice Lady and the rest of the team. Would go there every...
