I visited Amarre 69 last Saturday and unfortunately witnessed a concerning incident that marred my experience. A visibly intoxicated patron was speaking disrespectfully to one of the waitresses, insisting that she should give attention to the drunlk customer simply because he was a customer and she was an employee.
Rather than addressing the inappropriate behavior of the drunk customer, the response from the bar's management was deeply disappointing. Instead of intervening with the patron, they approached the waitress, shifting the burden onto her shoulders. This not only failed to address the root issue but also placed undue pressure on the staff member who was already dealing with a difficult situation.
As a customer, I value establishments that prioritize the safety and well-being of their staff. It's disheartening to see such behavior tolerated, and the lack of appropriate management intervention was concerning. I hope that Amarre 69 takes steps to ensure a safer and more respectful environment for both patrons and employees...
Read moreOh my god. What was I thinking? I was starving, didn't want to check for restaurants for longer. I see some ridiculous life sized Jack Sparrow's lookalike and thought it would be a good idea to have lunch there? The place is a tourist trap (and I fell for it). I ordered some merluza (it wasn't Merluza). We ordered some bolinhos de bacalhau, it was clearly frozen food. When I told the waiter about the food not being actually what its described, she agreed. If you are selling a plate for 20€, at least buy some real ingredients. Also, I find it ridiculous for a restaurant to use AI for it's menu pictures. Just like the rest of the place, everything is just to show and to pretend that they are actually trying to provide a good servicem Please,...
Read moreI came to eat at Amarre 69 last night with my boyfriend as I knew they had vegan options, when I spoke to the waiter/owner, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the whole menu is now vegan.
We tried the BBQ Pulled Jackfruit burger and the Mushroom Tacos. They were both flavoursome, but as mentioned to the waiter, the Jackfruit needed something crunchy like lettuce and perhaps ciabatta instead of a burger bun. It was falling apart and messy to eat and although at was tasty, it lacked texture. Hopefully, since they are at the beginning of their vegan journey as a restaurant they’ll make some improvements.
The service and ambience are great and it has a lovely outdoor terrace. I’m looking forward to going back to try their...
