Definitely slow food as everything takes forever - 20 min to get a menu, 1 hr to get our starters, etc…We were a big group which should be a good thing (not cancelling our reservation even though it was pouring) but when one person’s starter took 20 min extra to arrive while our food got cold, the manager just said “it’s because your group is too big.” We were treated as an annoyance. It was a fixed menu per person / no chance to order just a main. Even though I had called previously on three occasions not once was it mentioned that it was a fixed menu. The place was uncomfortably hot. The food was just ok. I got the celeriac lasagne which was small and mild flavored and the tempeh (5 bites) which was stiff and unseasoned but had a dried grape sauce that gave it a sweet flavor. The main looked the same size as the starter. The dessert was the size of two teaspoons of ice cream with granola. For that price I could’ve eaten very well at another place = it’s overpriced. The slow food and local ingredients marketing doesn’t live up to the expectations. The service was awful, I had to waive my hands to call the attention of someone on multiple occasions and they would only come when it suited them, not when we wanted something. Wish I had read all the honest one star reviews before deciding to take my friends and feeling embarrassed I took them there.
Note to manager: be kinder and attentive with guests and don’t blame you’re inability to do your job on your clients. Serve fair sizes.
Update: your response is false as you never mentioned anywhere it was a fixed menu per person (no chance of ordering just 3 menus for example to share, which would have been impossible given the tiny portions anyway. Plates aren’t shareable and we weren’t going to try to share a teaspoon each for your convenience). You took too long to come to out table each time why would I bother explaining to you how this shows your lack of service - take accountability for your bad service instead of blaming us. Close down your restaurant if you don’t enjoy serving food which is what...
Read moreIt's hard to describe Rasoterra with words. The food is an experience. It's art, really. Delicious, nutritious, plant-based art. The flavors the kitchen create are truly unique. The combination of flavors in a single dish are revolutionary. They take simple, local ingredients and create some of the most unexpected, flavorful and exciting dishes I've ever eaten. Rasoterra isn't interested in a vegan version of standard restaurant fare. They create new food—entrees that you simply don't see coming until they're on the plate in front of you. The results are truly greater than the sum of their ingredients. And that's just the dinner menu! The dessert menu is on another level. Tomatoes for dessert? Yes! Chocolate and wasabi? Unreal! Unlikely partners in a rocket ship of flavor! And of course, the wines. All local, Catalan region grapes, organic and sulfite free. The granacha I had at dinner, was some of the best tasting wine I've ever had. Again, mind blown. Experience broadened. Last but not least, the people there..incredibly hospitable and kind. We had so many questions about the food, the inspiration, the ideas. We were served by 3-4 different people through the evening and all were so willing to answer our questions and quite happily discussed the food and flavors. We were seated by Paula who visited us several times during our meal to check in, enlighten us with knowledge of the wine and allow us to shamelessly compliment the food. When you're in Barcelona, do yourself a favor. Go to RASOTERRA. You will...

I was at this restaurant with vegan friends that visited from abroad. I'm not going to comment on the food, because I'm not vegan and I don't have enough experience with vegan gastronomy. The only thing I'm going to comment on the food is that it genuinely made me sad at the end of the night, compared to a good restaurant experience which should bring joy to people.
The serving experience was the worst I had in the last few years. The moment I entered the waiters seemed to be angry (or sad), with no sign of happiness in their eyes. When we sat at the table we needed to wait a while and had the feeling that they were ignoring us.
We asked what orange wine they would recommend and that they should bring us the one they usually prefer. The climax was when one waiter told the other one in spanish (thinking we don't understand) "use as few words as possible when presenting the wine because they won't get it anyway".
In the end they overcharged us 18 euros by adding 2 extra dishes on the bill and we had to ask them to remove it. They did acknowledge their mistake.
I think overall the experience was a sad and traumatising one when you think that you pay someone to treat you badly and you eat...
