SCAM, DO NOT GO. I picked this because of the good reviews but they've bought them. I should've realised as soon as we walked in & it wasn't run by Spanish.
They offered beers, I asked the size, we decided on large based on his gestures & two 1L steins came out! We thought it was funny until the bill came - €26!
The garlic & chilli prawns were good & the grilled prawns were ok but that's where it ends. The mussels were so overcooked they were hard & inedible. The beef carpacio had been frozen & the meat was "wet". I'm pretty sure the cod from the cod & aoili tapas was not cod & it still had skin on one side. They served it with something like sour cream & claimed it to be aoili. I said it wasn't & they tried to explain what aoili was - I know what it is, there was not a hint of garlic. They brought out more, still not aoili. Finally the seafood croquettes tasted like absolutely nothing, not a drop of seafood, just mashed potato. The people next to us had a piece of lamb it looked like you could bang a nail in with.
These reviews are FAKE, avoid, it's a tourist...
Read moreDO NOT EAT HERE. Me and my boyfriend love tapas and so we were very excited to have one last tapas meal before our holiday ended. The whole place felt dirty and dated and the food was even more of a disappointment. We got the ham croquettes and also the seafood croquettes. I couldn’t tell you which was which as they both tasted the same which was flavourless mush. The Aioli bread was 3 flimsy slices of bread with some kind of mayo on it- it definitely was not aioli as it had no garlic flavour at all. My boyfriend asked for a burger with no cheese and yet the meat had a distinct blue cheese flavour, as if it had been made with cheese and then scrapped off. And to top it all off it was €3.95 for one 250ml coke. The bill came to €61 which for flavourless food, small over priced cokes, a dirty bathroom/table and terrible service, I was (and still am) extremely upset as it was not the last meal of our holiday we were hoping for.
It was our most expensive meal all holiday yet was by far the smaller and worst...
Read moreThe worst gastronomic experience during our days in Barcelona. The Huevos Rotos were bad and a small portion, still, nothing that atrocious to come here saying that bad. On the other hand, the paella was one of the worst pieces of food I've ever eaten in my entire life, and for 17 euros, I was expecting something a bit better than literal dog food. To end the meal, I was gifted the big surprise of my lunch, a small 20cl bottle of coke and a similar size Ice Tea for the nice amount of 4 each! Of course this drinks were not on the menu so we had no idea how expensive it was before the bill arrived. In conclusion, I hope people can see this and avoid one of the worst tourist scams in Barcelona, and avoid the same mistake as we did. Stay safe and out of these...
