The staff here is lovely while the food is average. I have continued to come from time to time because it is nearby. I am often treated as an afterthought, like they are 'obliging' me by seating me at a half empty restaurant. Still, it's convenient. However, after tonight, I can no longer recommend this restaurant to anyone. While the staff is kind and does their best, the owner is a sad little man who needs therapy (he actually said to me 'my wife will take care of me tonight' -- eww). He was so triggered over 1 euro (I wish I was kidding) and started to verbally attack my friend and I (both single women, both regular customers up until today). He said very concerning things to me such as "only people who speak Catalan are welcome here" and "speak Catalan or do not come here" while shouting angrily. Tourists are not welcome here. He also got in my face while shouting which was quite frightening as a woman who has experienced male aggression while in Barcelona and yelled profanities at me which I will not repeat here. I'm still in shock. Please do not risk your safety and mental sanity for average and overpriced Italian food and men who should not be working front of house. Safety comes first,...

This is a surprise find during my trip to Barcelona. I visited on 22 Oct 2024 evening for dinner and ordered an Amatriciana pasta and Ossobunco and Burrata cheese salad, and all of them are amazing.

My wife and I went to Italy for our Autumn/Winter holiday and our taste-buds are spoilt and the little family managed eateries in Florence, Turin, Tevestere (Rome).. etc.

We agreed that Cachaca stand shoulder to shoulder with the best of them. I will definitely be back if I return to Barcelona.

A final note. I really like the service style of the waiter. He rather like cat, in a very good way. He is not very extroverted and talkative and stays out of sight, which makes him seem distant. However, he is actually attentive and pops ups whenever he is needed. For example he is nowhere on sight, but when my wife drops a fork, he popped out within SECONDS with a fresh one. What...

Very disappointing. I've given it 2 stars for the interior but the food and the service were very disappointing. We were asked when we arrived if we had booked, which we hadn't, so were told there was no room unless we wanted to sit at the end of the bar. However A couple were just leaving so we could sit at their table. I ordered a mojito. It didn't taste of lime or mint, just sugary rum. I ordered the spaghetti with clams. It arrived with FIVE tiny clams! No sauce, just greasy butter for nearly 15 euros! The pasta hadn't been salted so was very bland. The homemade foccacia we ordered never arrived. Nobody came to check our meal was ok so we couldn't complain. Terrible customer service, we weren't made to feel welcome at all. All in all a very disappointing and expensive...

I absolutely LOVE Cachaca. Definitely my favorite restaurant in Barcelona and one of my favorite Italian restaurants ever. It’s small and sweet, so it doesn’t get loud and crowded. It’s also not in the middle of the busy area of the Gothic Quarter so you can enjoy yourselves with an amazing Italian dish. Appetizers, Main Courses and Desserts were perfect. I’ve been to Barcelona twice and had the pleasure of being there both times, and if I ever in Barcelona again, it will be on my to do list. The owner is a true Italian, so it’s great getting the real feel. Loved being served by him both times. I’m from Brazil and we had the pleasure of celebrating my sister’s birthday there before heading home and it was amazing. So if I can give you an advice, don’t miss out on this place!

Small and cozy Italian fare with homemade pasta was great for our last night in Barcelona. It was a fun experience. When one of us asked if the dessert was without dairy, the server laughed and said “of course not! It’s dessert!” The fourtop was intimate and we’ve sat in larger tables for just the two of us. No complaints even though my sister was stepping on my toes nonstop throughout the dinner swearing that the angle of her sitting position was 90 degrees. How a 50 year old gets into an argument with his younger sister in the middle of the dinner speaks to the passion of the atmosphere; it was pervasive! Just for the record, her feet was further than a 90 degree angle.
