Restaurant "la boca aigua" — Restaurant in Barcelona

Based solely on food I'd rate this place a 3. The gnocchi was excellent as was the whole fish. That's where the positive ends. We ordered an octopus dish that no one liked. The burrata was very weird - cheese itself was OK but the sauces around just didn't taste good or make sense. The pizzas were amature, tasted fine but not restaurant quality, more like something you'd make at home. Unfortunately the mediocre food was not the worst part of our experience. The glass of wine we ordered cane with not one, but two flies in it. The wine was replaced after we alerted them but shockingly, they still charged for it. In any other restaurant we would get a serious discount or a dish on the house for something like this, but here they felt two flies in the wine was no big deal. Next, in the back of the restaurant but visible to all diners was a table completely covered with bottles of medicine and other strange personal items. Clearly no emphasis placed on ambiance. I understand this is not a chef restaurant but even for a honey restaurant, there are basic standards. Finally, I will note that the 30% discount through The Fork really only brings the prices to a normal level, and given the basic (at best) level of the food, even the "discounted" prices were too high. I would definitely not recommend this place, there are much better...

We had a reservation at La Boca Agua on July 16th and were excited about the 50% discount offered on The Fork app. In the app we checked the menu and what we wanted to eat in advance. Unfortunately, upon arrival, the restaurant informed us that a large portion of the menu was excluded from the discount. This significantly limited our choices and made the advertised discount misleading. A kind of tourist scam. As such we choose to leave as this behaviour is not to be accepted. After hearing a recommendation from a friend, I made the effort to visit the restaurant despite the distance. From the moment I entered, I was met with disrespectful and dismissive treatment. I chose a dish, but after just a few seconds I asked to change it – the staff member reacted with irritation and even turned to speak to her mother in an impatient tone. The overall impression was that the place holds prejudiced views toward Black people and does not provide them with proper service. The dish I ordered – plain beef – was overly salty, with no special flavor or uniqueness. In my view, a place that does not respect every person, regardless of who they are, is not a place...
