I was hoping to avoid touristy spots and lines, and Embat was by far our favorite meal in Barcelona. The setting is unpretentious but the menu beautifully curated. Service was attentive and allowed the meal to flow without feeling rushed. The ingredients are fresh and creatively put together. The menu is elevated and true to its Catalonian roots. We loved with the fried eggplant (prepared like fries), the asparagus mille-feuille was SO unique and delightful (pictured), the prawn carpaccio was unbelievably fresh (pictured), the steak perfectly cooked (pictured), and their interpretation of tiramisu (pictured) did not disappoint. It’s a small restaurant offering Catalan creative cuisine. The service was great, the food was superb!
I came for a weekday lunch where and got a Menu del Dia, which was a bit more expensive than the average menu, but the food was worth it.
I went with 2 more friends and we all left very satisfied with the dishes!
Ps. If you are, like me, doubting between choosing steak tartar or roast beef, go for roast beef, it is super tender and delicious.
