TLDR; didn’t feel welcomed and felt pushed out by manager.
Was looking for a place to eat a meal alone and read my book during the evening and found this place. It was empty, the menu looked good and was brightly lit. Server was nice, I asked for recommendations for appetisers and desserts and he was helpful. I started with mozzarella sticks and asked for a glass of water which I’ve done at many restaurants before. While waiting, I was reading my book when a friend stopped by to pick up an item. Since he was there he ordered a shot of espresso so we could speak for a bit, but then the manager came over. He promptly informed us that this was a restaurant, not a cafeteria. For me to order a glass of water and for my friend to order a shot of espresso was unacceptable and he wanted us to know this going forward. The message was simple and understandable enough, but his demander was tense and very strict. My friend even apologised because his demeanour seemed upset as if we had done something disrespectful. Not to mention, I was actually there to eat! 😅 either way, the manager totally made us feel unwelcome so after finishing my appetizer I asked for the bill.
Since this is a restaurant, I’ll be honest. The decor looks more like a cafeteria than restaurant. Look at Vivaldi, 365 and more to see what I mean. Most restaurants that I’ve been to use mood lighting especially in the evening to enhance the atmosphere. This restaurant choose bright overhead lighting instead which made the atmosphere feel sterile. The mozzarella sticks were decent and fairly priced at 6 euros (based on the area). Was hoping to try a dessert as well, but I left before I ordered. In terms of service, it’s lacking. The server himself was new and very friendly (before the manager), but the manager was very unwelcoming in tone and demeanour. As the manager I would assume he would handle a conversation like that better, especially while training a server. He also must’ve scolded the server because the server went from friendly and welcoming to apathetic.
Overall, it’s a restaurant. But there’s plenty of better ones in Eixample that won’t make you feel...
Read moreSuper great experience! We were with a group of 13 people, made reservation in advance. When we came the table was already prepared and waiters were welcoming us, smiling, quickly explaining how to choose dishes. We had a group menu: starters to share and main dishes and desserts personally chosen.
All food was served very quickly and we found it super delicious! Olives, aubergines, cheese+tomato, mozarella sticks, roasted potato, chicken sticks with souce - all super tasty and enough for everyone! For the main dish there were few pasta options, few pizzas and also burgers. For desserts we had amazing Italian lemon ice-cream, or tiramisu, or cheesecakes.
The Chef came out to us personally to ask if everything was good - we really loved it!
All together, highly recommend this place! Amazing quality for a very...
Read moreAverage food, and not so good treatment. We had 2 people in the group that came too late, and decided they didn't want to eat (not telling this in advance was their fault). The waiter forced them to order a full menu, claiming they had already prepared the food in advance (which was salad from a plastic bag, fried mozzarella sticks and pizza [which should be prepared at the last moment]).
The food was average, I can safely say only the pizza was decent. Even the tiramisu, which is impossible to prepare in a wrong way, was just terrible.
To sum up, this is a (fake) Italian restaurant mostly run as a...
