Let me tell you about my "wonderful" experience at Indochine Ly Leap in Barcelona. So, my boyfriend and I were excited to try this place with its beautiful decorations and actual fish swimming between the tables. I mean, how cute is that, right? But all the charm ended there because the service, OMG, it was a whole new level of bad! First of all, not a single person there spoke English, which is quite impressive for a restaurant in such a touristy city.
But here comes the best part of the evening—finding a HAIR in my plate. I kid you not, I had someone else's hair in my mouth! Just what I always dreamed of. So, I called the waiter over, expecting a proper apology or some kind of reaction you'd expect from a decent restaurant. But nope! He just casually said it came from the kitchen, like it's a regular occurrence. Bravo on that customer service! Of course, I couldn't stomach the idea of continuing the meal after such a delightful discovery. We went outside so I wouldn't lose my lunch right there at the table. My boyfriend and I decided to leave because nobody bothered to apologize or ask what happened. Who needs apologies, right? They're totally overrated. But hold on, the best part is yet to come! As I was making my way back inside to inform them that we won't be paying for anything, this person, who I assume was the manager (although they didn't bother to identify themselves), approached me like some mysterious figure from a bad thriller movie. It was almost comical. This "manager" had the audacity to claim that the hair didn't come from their precious kitchen because all their staff had short hair, and no one was blonde. What an impeccable deduction, Sherlock Holmes would be proud! But you know what they didn't bother with? Oh yeah, apologizing! Who needs that when you can be rude and unapologetic? Long story short, I didn't pay for a single thing, and the cherry on top was the waiter’s sarcastic comment, calling it a "gift" to me. Wow, I never knew a hair-infested plate could be a gift! Bravo, Indochine Ly Leap, you've won the award for the worst restaurant experience ever. I can't wait to see how you'll respond to this review, not that I expect anything more than another display of your exceptional customer service skills. Save yourselves the horror, folks, and AVOID this place at all costs the food is NOT...
Read moreWe saw this place online and instantly thought it seemed very special and particular, with an original design and atmosphere. When we arrived, the place was actually less elegant and neat than we thought: the interior design was less neat than we could see in the pictures, and in the background there was the noise of the purifier of the water. would suggest to change the lightning (maybe it could be softer) and also to put some led lights in the water under the seats (it was dark and you couldn't really see the fishes move so it was only scary when you heard them move). Anyway, the first dish was perfect: balanced and tasty. However, the other dishes didn't surprise us at all and we didn't fully like a couple of them. I gave two stars because the food wasn't bad, but I don't think it was worth the price. In addiction, the staff was very nice and polite, but the service as well wasn't worth the price (for example, we had to keep our cutleries until the end of the dinner, they weren't changed between one course and the other). I know that these might seem little things, but being a dinner that is being payed more than a hundred euros in total, they are things that should be more relevant. I think there's good potential but there should be an upgrade: less worrying about the image/design and more caring about other aspects such as the taste...
Read moreI was expecting so much more from this place, especially considering it’s quite expensive. The restaurant is undoubtedly beautiful (although slowly decaying) and there’s so much attention to creating a very unique atmosphere here, but upon arriving we awkwardly had to hang around the bar for ten minutes before the staff finally acknowledged us and brought us to our table - it was a bad first impression (they were completely unorganised). We were sitting at our table for about fifteen minutes before we finally got a menu, the table wasn’t correctly set and was missing cutlery (every time it was getting the waiters attention for a menu, cutlery etc). Once we finally reviewed the menu and got the table set things improved a bit. The food was a hit and miss (I loved the ravioli, cannelloni, and the curry but wasn’t impressed with the fried rice, noodles, or prawns - the food was very greasy). The ambience was quite unique, and sitting under the plants and surrounded by water was a nice change. I wouldn’t return any time soon, mostly because the food and experience wasn’t worth the price. N.B. Even though they claim “50% discount” on El Tenedor it’s 50% less than the normal menu but with cheaper ingredients and cheaper variants of the dishes. In any case, you aren’t realistically saving...
