Update: Went back yesterday and ordered the laksa #36 with Malaysian Sambal spicy and was mind-blown. The waiter remembered us and knew I love spicy so he brought a small dish of extra sambal chili which of course, I devoured. Definitely a 5/5 and probably the best laksa I’ve had.

After many laksa adventures, this place is definitely the best I’ve had in Barcelona. There are two different laksa soups and of course, I tried both.

Food: 5/5

Laksa soup #35: this is the newer version of their laksa which has shrimp, tomatoes, and beans. This is suppose to be a bit spicer than number 36. It could definitely be spicer.

Laksa soup #36: I prefer this more than the newer version. It has shrimp, chicken, and fish balls. It has a very light spicy level. I’d definitely order this one next time and ask for the “Malaysian spicy level.”

Chicken satay: good but a bit pricy for the portion. Their peanut sauce is “chef’s kiss.”

Venue: The venue is quite large though there are no round tables making it inconvenient for large groups…unless you don’t mind not being able to socialize with the others across the table.

Wonderful, wonderful restaurant. It was our first time ever trying malaysian food and it did not disappoint and our experience was as good as it probably could have been! The venue was stylished and nicely decored to fit the type of cuisine and vibe they are and offer. Comfortable and relaxing setting with a true authentic feeling over it all. Busy and bustling kitchen with lovely aromas escaping and into the dining area. Professional and hard working servers, so were the chefs we could see as well because they were working at lightning speed. We opted to share a starter of dim sums and had veggie curries with malaysian bread to dip as well as their amazing malaysian milk tea. It is so evident from the get go they know what they are doing because they were plated beautifully, temperature was on point and all the flavors were there, a big package with explosions of flavors and wonderfull textures that all play and work perfectly together. The portions were also on the bigger side and with our drinks we got a little something to snack on as well. Absolutely astonishing dining...

Outside of Malaysia it is really hard to find a really good Malaysian restaurant. So we were pleasantly surprised when we decided to try this one just around the corner from our hotel in Barcelona of all places. Everything we had was authentic and delicious! My wife is a Malaysia native and certified foodie and she was in heaven, got homesick. We tried the sate ayam, roti canai (with chicken), bebek menyatnyat (duck), kari laksa, nasi lemak, char kuey teow for our main dishes. Hard to say which was the best, but the duck was a big hit, very tasty and crispy. So was the nasi lemak, the only thing that could have made it better was more anchovies and a touch more coconut milk in the rice, but... so good! For dessert we had the bubur hitam (Indonesian black rice with coconut ice cream) and sagu gula (tapioca with coconut milk). Both delicious but the bubur was so good we ordered another.
