Rovica Bar Cafeteria — Restaurant in Barcelona

Great location, lovely to sit under the umbrellas on the busy road, but they must think their location is an excuse to provide one of the worst restaurant services I have experienced.

A good group of four for lunch, they first placed us on a reserved table, were near unresponsive in conversation and rude. The menu del la dia looked good value for lunch, but, believe me, there's a reason for that.

Wine included, I would have settled for a standard glass of house white/red, but instead was given an open bottle of DILUTED white wine. It was a cheap move, and unnecessary when a glass would have been fine. The food then came out in treble quick time, purely because it had zero preparation. The spaghetti bolagnaise was clearly reheated, and topped with thickly grated cheddar not parmesan, and my tuna lentil salad was raw tomatoes, onions and peppers with watery lentils and tinned tuna still stuck together.

We all went for the minute steak main, and it was wafer thin and overcooked so much it was chewy and the chips were supermarket standard and undercooked supermarket chips at that.

For pudding, the ice cream was actually tasty, but was one of those paper pots and not their own. To top it all off, the waiter, after we ate, knocked over the bottle of diluted wine, stood waiting as we pulled it up and then reluctantly dabbed the table with a napkin without an attempt of an apology. Shoddy all round, and shocked that this place even received mediocre reviews...

Very surprised by the reviews here as we had a really good meal. I had the ham and mushroom risotto and it was easily the best risotto I've ever had, my husband had the nacho platter and thoroughly enjoyed his meal. Staff were friendly and welcoming, service was good we didn't have to wait like some people have said. Would definitely eat here again.

The reviews that are complaining of being charged more than the menu shows, it states quite clearly on the menu that shared plates are priced per person and that there is a surcharge for eating outside (this is standard practice at many restaurants can be between 10% and 15%). If you don't want to pay extra eat inside, but for an extra 3-5 eur on a holiday meal is it really worth worrying about. Presumably you're there to have fun, try...

Avoid this bar at all costs! I had the unfortunate experience of dining at this tapas bar today, and it was an absolute disaster from start to finish. First off, the food was far from fresh; in fact, some of the tapas we were served were downright mouldy! When we brought this to the attention of the staff, instead of apologizing, they had the audacity to joke about it, suggesting that mouldy food is something it can happen and it’s absolutely normal. Since when is serving mouldy food considered acceptable? It's clear that this place has no regard for basic sanitary standards, and the staff's rudeness only adds insult to injury. Save yourself the trouble and keep away from this unsanitary...
