Soma Barcelona - A Genuine Tapas Experience! Visiting Soma Barcelona was an absolute delight, a truly authentic tapas experience that stood out among the rest. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by not only the friendly staff but also a cute, endearing dog that added an extra dose of charm to the place. Speaking of charm, the service was excellent - attentive, warm, and welcoming, making us feel as though we were old friends rather than new customers. They were knowledgeable about their menu and eager to make our experience a memorable one. The cocktail list was superb, with each drink masterfully crafted. The perfect balance of flavors in our cocktails complemented our food choices, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to our meal. As for the food, every dish was a revelation, but the squid ink risotto and the duck truly stood out. The risotto was bold and savory, with a rich depth of flavor brought out by the squid ink. The duck was cooked to perfection, tender and bursting with succulent flavors that had us reaching for more. However, the true essence of Soma Barcelona lies in its authentic tapas experience. It is in the sharing of delicious dishes, the bustling atmosphere, and the palpable joy in every bite that you truly understand why Soma Barcelona is loved by so many. In conclusion, Soma Barcelona is an absolute must-visit for foodies and casual diners alike. The mix of charming service, great cocktails, exceptional dishes, and that cute dog, create an atmosphere you'll want to return to time and time again. It’s one of the best, authentic tapas experiences around - don't miss out!

Where do I even start, from service to the food - everything was exceptional! Make sure you book beforehand as it’s a very small, cosy restaurant. Topjaw’s recommendation brought me here! Was running very late and the staff were very accommodating in saving our tables, however they don’t extend the time you have your table so watch out. Our booking was at 8PM which is within their limited seating times, where you only have the table for a certain period of time. On to the food, it was immaculate. Every bite was precious; bursting with unique flavours and textures. I could not find a fault in any of the dishes and the Sangria. My favourites were the eggplant with burrata and the prawn risotto (which I still dream of today). The veal was so tender it just fell apart, but surprisingly the carrot puree stole the show for me. I just kept going for it. The atmosphere was cosy and relaxed. It is a small place, so beware that you are pretty much right next to the table next to you. Highly recommend! Soma, we’ll be coming back.

The food was underwhelming and the dining experience on the bar is uncomfortable and unsuitable for having a convenient dinner. The place doesn't have good air conditioning/ventilation, only a ceiling fan which didn't help much so it was very hot. The staff was nice but inattentive, when we asked for the bill the waiter took 15 minutes to bring it after asking for a second time to bring it, while he was right in front of us the entire time at the bar and next to the cash register doing other things. The steak tartar was bland and with a weird texture. The skirt steak meat (photo not included in the review) took way too long to be prepared and was way too chewy but at least the sauce was nice. The cheese fritters and patatas bravas were food. Overall for what it was, in terms of experience and food, it felt that it was overpriced.

Not a great experience today.. We visited the place last week, had a few drinks and made a reservation for today which we were really looking forward to. All was going well to start with, initial drinks were great, but approx. 20 minutes into the service the waiter literally stopped serving us and avoided us. To be fair, we had booked for 3, however our friend couldn't make it. We communicated this as soon as we came in, apologised and were happy to change tables. (perhaps this wasn't understood at the beginning and we indicated to the waiter that the 3rd person wasn't coming again). We were reminded that the kitchen was closing soon however we were not given the menu at this point either. Without going into too much detail, if you aren't local the service can be kind of bipolar.. Fantastic one moment, really dismissive the second for no apparent reason. We will not be back as the food was only OK, plenty of other places in Barcelona with fantastic service and...
