Subway Pelai — Restaurant in Barcelona

Let’s start with the fact that I LOVE Subway. Anywhere. Be it in Europe, in americas or wherever. The attention and cleanness vary per country, but the food is always delicious

I can say without any doubts - this was the worst Subway I’ve ever been to!

Let’s start: we arrive at Subway. Empty, only 1 couple in front of us. The lady took about 10 min to serve them without attending us, nobody else approached either (usually Subways have 2/3 people working at a time - 1 taking the order/prepping and the other at the cashier desk) No apologies, very unfriendly, with a resting b face, no ‘hello’, nothing. But ok. We came for the food. -We asked for the promo they had written on the poster outside (you didn’t have any promos written or available inside) and she denied its existence. I said ‘are you sure the promo isn’t there?’ - ‘yes’. We came outside to take a photo, came inside and she was serving a different customer. Makes sense but… with her speed.. basically, she could’ve waited 5 sec till we come back in. But that’s not the biggest problem we waited again till she’d be done, took more expensive promo for our sandwich, which (according to their promos) should’ve costed cheaper. But we were hungry and in a huge rush to catch a train. Since we already waited about 20 min, we had to hurry she asked which bread we wanted. We said Cheese and Herbs, also said it in Catalan and pointed the finger to the specific bread. She put us regular bread. After me asking her which bread it was, she said ‘white’. I told her we asked for the other bread. the remark she responded with ‘oops’ and changed it then she asks - ‘which cheese do you want?’. My boyfriend asked ‘can I have mixed cheese?’ (Usually we do - 1 slice cheddar, 1 American, same price). She said - absolutely! And offered 1 slice/1 slice. You know what? When the sandwich was ready, she charged €1 extra for the cheese! She just denied again and said ‘oops I thought you wanted extra’ but she didn’t put any extra either 🤣🤣🤣 2 slices is the standard! I asked where the bathroom was. She sent me upstairs, but the door was locked. So I had to come down and she was like ‘oops the password is 1234’ like… could you have mentioned that beforehand ? 🤣🤣 the toilet was SUPER DIRTY. I couldn’t even use the girls toilet as it was filled with dirty disgusting toilet paper to the rim!!! I had to go to the male bathroom and it was disgustingly dirty too. If they have a lock on the toilet and nobody can come in there.. don’t they ever clean in there? It’s super anti-sanitary

And jokes on me! Even the subway itself was not tasty compared to other places! Bread was falling apart, was soggy, very little ingredients put, extra charge for smth that is free by default…even in Costa Rica in the mid of jungle there is better service than in BCN 🤣

Go to subway. But never to this subway. Shame on this subway and their employees, they seriously should be ashamed of themselves ! How can you hire someone so unprofessional??

P. S. We didn’t get scammed as tourists… we live here, we are local and all the convos etc were in...

Both the schedule on the door and on Google Maps say that it's open until 00:00, but once again they are closing way before the scheduled closing time. I got here at 22:56 and they let me in, but they didn't let the couple behind me come inside. They were tourists so they didn't complain because they looked like they didn't speak Spanish. This is not the first time that this has happened to me in this Subway. Last time I called and asked at what time they would close and they said 23:30, and when I arrived at 23:20 the manager said that she wouldn't serve me. I had to get into a discussion with her so that she respected what she had previously established and at the end she agreed to serve me. !!IF I COULD JUST PUT 0 STAR IN THIS, I WOULD DEFINITELY WOULD!! My brothers bought me a product from this place and told me their experience. They told me about the BAD BEHAVIOR of one of the staffs. His face looks so grumpy and isn't even attentive to the customer's order. I mean... Hello!? You can't show that you're mad at a customer who just want to order food. If I was there at that time, I would definitely not accept the product he is preparing and just go to other restaurant who would ultimately give us good service. Telling my brothers not to go back here. Definitely...
