Honestly, the place is cute but the service is absolutely horrible. We had a reservation and we are from the neighborhood and the waiters were incredibly rude — they were mad because they put the tables too close to each other and no one could sit, so my friends (Catalan locals) had to move it to sit down. The food was mediocre. The rabbit was over cooked, and the best part was serving yourself wine as you entered before they seat you. We had a reservation and they were so rude, not attending us and ignoring us for like more than 30 minutes. The place, which used to be frequented by locals 10 or so years ago, has become guiri-landia. Touristy, and not good quality. The only saving grace was our waiter - the young one. The other two bald men were incredibly rude, saying to our friend who told them we had a reservation “who are you?” and quite literally yelling at us for moving the table less than 4 inches (like only 10 centimeters), as we, and our neighbors, were uncomfortable. Absolutely don’t recommend. Save your money and go down the street to...
Read moreI can thoroughly recommend this restaurant based on my recent visit. It was another place I was alerted to by the excellent Barcelona Hacks website. This restaurant is in a quiet neighbourhood well away from all the tourist sites, so you're unlikely to chance upon it without knowing it's there. It's worth the walk thoug, especially if you've just been up to the Magic Fountain.
On arrival you are given a glass and asked to help yourself to wine from the barrel which is a nice and very welcome touch. Once seated, there is a wide-ranging menu with some fantastic dishes on, including snails and rabbit, both of which I can recommend. They have an English menu but the night I went I'm confident we were the only people in there who weren't local. There's a warm. friendly and relaxed vibe in this rustic place and the price wasn't too high. Definitely...
Read moreThis place was recommended to us by someone who lives in Canada! We found out that it is on the same street as our AirBnB. It was a 2 minute walk. The entrance is not very distinguishable for the rest of the building, albeit very large…you are entering an ex-winery, you will notice immediately since there are huge barrels of wine. You will be given a glass and the wine tasting ritual will start. You can taste their home made wine, 2 whites and two reds. The ceilings are high, the atmosphere medieval and very Spanish. I am not a great fan of a rabbit, BUT everyone around me recommended it, so I went then for the best rabbit of my life. We also ordered local sausage with beans. Desserts were also great accompanied with the dry red. All in all, an amazing experience improved with the great Ismail from Argentina as an amazing host!!! Muchas...
