This is a wonderful burger - each of the three of us had a different one, and each was superb. The beef was juicy and flavorful, and cooked precisely "al punt" (Catalán for medium rare). Although the menus were only in Castilian Spanish and in Catalán (hey - it IS Catalonia, after all!) there were examples of each of the bun types at the order counter. The fries were also THAT GOOD. Better than most I've had since arriving here five years ago. Just sayin.'
The beer selection was adequate, but could be much broader. Only two things kept me from giving them that elusive fifth star... the waitstaff and the dessert. Our wait person refused to honor a request for a "La Pequeburg" for my wife. She insisted this was for kids ONLY, although it said nothing of the sort on the menu. Despite my wife having a peckish appetite at the time, all I got was a cup full of NO from the server. NO. No. (sigh...)
My wife also wanted an infusion (tea or herbal). Nope. If you don't want beer, you have to choose from water, high sugar soft drinks, or fruit juice with sugar added. Management may really want to look into these choices.
Dessert - we shared what was allegedly tiramisu. I realize there are almost as many tiramisu recipes as there are restaurants in Barcelona, and they all have SOME amount of coffee in them - whether sprinkled on top in powdered form or whatever. THIS tiramisu, however, had ZERO coffee. It was nicely sprinkled with powdered cocoa, but... well... I'd better stop before I dock them another star.
Bottom line: The hamburgers and fries were superb, but the...
Read moreGreat food, good atmosphere, decent size portions & some good 'non-burger' options. Prices are not the cheapest in the area but what you expect to pay for what you get in a city such as Barcelona. Place is ideal for groups and there were families with kids enjoying the food too. Tick what you want from the printed menu, take it to the till and pay. A good idea to bridge the language barrier. Menus in English as well as Spanish & groups can share 1 menu so your food all arrives together which again is ideal. (We just wrote the number of multiple items, like fries, next to the tick box.) Also a good choice of beers & soft drinks to accompany the burgers. My only negative point was all of the burgers were quite greasy. The buns disintegrate by the time you get to the end of the burger and each of us were left a little puddle of grease on the plate. You will easily end up using a couple of napkins cleaning...
Read moreWent to this place around a week ago. Since neither me nor my dad speak Spanish, the language barrier was very well feelable. My dad thought he ordered fries for 2 people but instead he ordered 2 huge bowls of 500g each. When the employees understood this was a mistake they used Google Translate to ask us if we wanted 2 deserts in exchange for one bowl of fries. We agreed and after that everything went good. The burger was very, very good. They also had introduced a new bread type, "air", not too long before which we both had and both found very good. The fries were homemade and had enough but not too much salt on them. Overall, service was perfect, food was delicious and if I lived in Barcelona, I would...
