There were some challenges during our visit. Initially, my partner and I had come with the intention of trying sea urchin. However, when my partner inquired about the availability of raw sea urchin, we were informed that the only option was to order a "sea urchin with rice" meal. So, we ended up ordering "Grilled eel with pak choy and garlic-pepper sauce" as well as the "sea urchin rice." Unfortunately, when the eel arrived, it was cold instead of grilled, and it had a strong smoky odor, like if it had been exposed to liquid smoke. "Rice with sea urchin" appeared to be a soup with rice and some pieces of sea urchin Later on, we discovered that raw sea urchin was actually available, and it would have been great if the first waiter understood our order properly in the beginning ( apparently they don’t speak English well). We requested to replace the "sea urchin rice" with raw sea urchin, as it wasn't our mistake that there was a misunderstanding at the first time . However, the waiter and manager refused our request twice. Both dishes left us unsatisfied, and it was disheartening that the waiter laughed when we expressed our dissatisfaction. It wasn't our fault that our order wasn't understood correctly, and the food didn't meet our expectations. In addition to the food issues, it's worth noting that we also had an encounter with cockroaches, which was...
Read moreDisappointed! This place tries to present itself as a fine-dining restaurant, but it's all just for show. The appearance is nice though —the white tablecloths, lighting, and décor of the main room certainly set the scene. But that’s about where the charm ends…
We went for the Chef’s Menu (77€), celebrating a birthday with a party of seven. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to the setting. The dishes were small, presented haphazardly, as you can see on photos, no effort of presentation and despite ordering for seven, we felt like we only had enough food for three. They served us 2 chuletons to share which were less than ~300g per head, and a handful of fries to the side… for 7 ! Not very generous and forgetting on refinement? For the price we paid, it was far from worth it.
The service was equally disappointing. The first waiter was great and very friendly. But the other waitress seemed irritated, which cast a shadow over the entire meal. They weren’t attentive, poured wine carelessly, and each time left drops scattered across the table. There were long waits between courses, making the whole experience feel dragged out.
Overall, it was overpriced for what we got, and the staff’s attitude did nothing to help the experience. Not somewhere I’d return to...
Read moreDined there with a group and those who had only the fish or seafood dishes enjoyed them well enough. But the meat dishes were dry and unappealing. A vegetarian in the group had to order a la carte DESPITE having called them previously to see what the options were and ended up spending 32€ when the others menus were 21€--and this was for veggies.
Service was simply appalling. Scattered and unmindful. Plates for courses arriving nowhere near the same time to the table. Great amounts of space between courses. Just generally uneven with little oversight.
The wine list was probably the worst aspect. Hard to understand how this restaurant won the local CartaVi Award at one point as it was a truly uninspiring wine list comprised of many wines from Rioja and other regions outside of Catalunya that also happened to be from big produces. Wine list has all the earmarks of being devised by their distributor with little thought nor care.
House wine served with lunch was a shoddy, overproduced red and white that RETAIL for 3.50€ a bottle. You're better off just skipping wine altogether.
UPDATE: Despite what the owner had stated below, I was dining in Topik and it wasn't a mistake of my confusing the GPS. Poor restaurant and this arrogance shows in the complete...
