WOW — Restaurant in Barcelona

A somewhat strange place, almost as though they are an al fresco diner but have added some tables inside as an afterthought.

I don't like eating outside in Spain as al fresco tends to attract smokers, so I usually find cleaner (and cooler) air inside. However, this place is somewhat dimly-lit, which is soothing but makes menus difficult to read and explains why many photos of the place look quite stark.

They had some English menus so I chose a burger topped with bacon and a single soft-fried shallot onion along with a side of chips, salad garnish and a traditional Spanish spicy sauce (Sofrito? Romesco?). The burger was fine, the bacon giving some additional flavour but the onion went quickly. I found the chips a bit oily and also didn't enjoy the sauce - it's not to everyone's taste, so I'm glad it was served on the side and not smothered over the burger.

I found the service initially engaging and attentive but as the evening wore on the availability of staff lessened and I ended having to flag someone down for more beers.

Como restaurante y comida está genial, hoy he ido por tercera vez a este restaurante hemos ido a comer y nos han atendido las chicas del turno de mañana, sinceramente súper simpáticas, como es habitual pues después de un rato mientras comiamos pediamos postres y demás a entrado el turno de tarde en el cuál hay una camarera en concreto, que primero de todo es muy mal educada, empezamos por que le hemos preguntado si podia traernos la carta para pedir algún cóctel su respuesta un resoplido, hemos decidido pedir la cuenta la cuál al ir a pagarle por partes cada uno y decirle el importe, su respuesta a sido otro resoplido añadiendo que no podia poner en datafono el importe dividido ya que tenia que redondearlo, sobretodo redondearlo hacia un precio superior, como es lógico he preguntado a que se debía dicho incremento ya que a mi no me parecía muy lógico, su respuesta con un tono fuera de contexto a sido, mi jefe no me deja y tengo que redondear, mi respuesta a sido que no había problema pero que eso de más me lo diera en forma de cambio aunque pagara con tarjeta y su cara de asco al mirarme a sido descomunal, pienso que yo no tengo porque pagar de más por algo que no cuesta más según pone la carta, pero mi sorpresa a sido cuando hemos acabado todos de pagar y se ha dirigido a nosotros diciendo, bueno que ahora a cuantos les he de devolver los céntimos, obviamente yo cuando voy a algún sitio me gusta dejar propina y no de centimos, pero siempre y cuando el trato por parte del establecimiento es bueno y pienso que con la actitud de esta chica el sitio pierde cierto encanto por decirlo así y seguro no soy el único que piensa de...

Wow wow wow! The food here was amazing! It’s a perfect spot for some drinks & tapas any afternoon! They were so friendly when we arrived and helped us wait for a table outside. The inside has a great atmosphere as well. We had the bravas (so good), the Spanish omelette (which was cooked to perfection), and the olives seemed to be marinated in house!
