Upon arrival, my party and I were left standing for an extended period before being seated, despite the restaurant not being overly busy. The staff member who eventually attended to us was discourteous, and our drinks alone took approximately 20 minutes to be served after placing the order. However, the most concerning issue occurred when the chef left the kitchen to use the restroom located beside our table. He was wearing the same blue gloves used for food preparation and did not remove them while entering or leaving the restroom. He then returned directly to the kitchen, still wearing the same gloves, and resumed food handling. This is an extremely serious breach of basic food safety and hygiene standards. Witnessing this left us feeling physically unwell and deeply uncomfortable consuming any food prepared on the premises thereafter. In addition, the food itself was of very poor quality. The omelette I ordered was particularly substandard and, unfortunately, one of the worst I have ever been served. For the reasons above, I strongly urge you to address both the hygiene practices and staff training within your establishment as a matter of urgency. Allowing food handlers to use restroom facilities while wearing gloves intended for food preparation is wholly unacceptable and represents a potential health hazard to customers. I hope you will take this feedback seriously and implement the necessary corrective actions to ensure no future guests have a...
Read moreCame for an early breakfast. The team were still setting up tables when we arrived just after opening time, but got us seated quickly and were very friendly and hospitable! The decor of the cafe is nice and we all particularly enjoyed the glasses that the smoothies (which were tasty - though closer to what I’d call a slushie than a smoothie) came in. The chairs were comfortable and fitted the cafe theme well. Food is a very preferential thing, so although I might not rate it highly, someone else might find it just to their liking: We had, pancakes with maple syrup - simple and tasty with little garnishing. Two simple toasts - toast + smashed avocado and we added bacon : again tasty, but my preference would be for the eggs to be a little runnier. Two English breakfasts - now I’m not going to critique this too much because if you choose an English breakfast whilst in Spain, well… that’s on you (or in this case, my two youngest kids). It was a decent portion, the mushrooms were very good, but again the eggs were slightly overdone for our tastes. The biggest disappointment was that there were no churros as advertised on their main sign - apparently they were discontinued last year - and we had chosen this cafe because we wanted some… though we also chose to stay when we couldn’t see them on the menu, so that might be on us as well. All in all I’d give the team, and particularly the young lady who served us, a solid 4.5-very good. Whilst the food I’d give a...
Read moreWe had breakfast at this restaurant, and overall, the food was tasty. However, there were a couple of things that could be improved. The eggs in the Eggs Benedict were overcooked, with the yolks being set rather than runny as they should be. On the positive side, the rest of the breakfast was delicious.
Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the churros. The dough was heavy and dense, far from the light and airy texture I’ve experienced elsewhere (and I’ve had quite a few churros to compare!). This is definitely something that could be improved.
That being said, the service was excellent, and the staff were friendly...
