Fabulous dinner. We arrived late but the chef was very welcoming. When the food arrived (which it did promptly ) it was savoury. We had tomatoes with buffalo mozzarella, smoked sardines, generous amounts of proper virgin olive oil and herbs for a starter. Moved on to a divine sepia... A tasty form of calamari cooked in curry to just the right texture. We then had aubergine with goats cheese, and the meal was complete with a tuna steak cooked to perfection (most elsewhere I find rather dry). Read moreI was quite disappointed of this restaurant since it had such a good score on internet. The service was not very good, it was cold inside so we had to use jacket on. We were there eating alone, because no one else was there. One of the meat we order was aceptable, but was poorly presented with no vegetables, just potato boats. The other steak was dry and even worse presented. They did not ask us how we wanted the meat. So they assumed it to be medium rare. I think this restaurant once was good, but not any longer. All of the dishes were superbly executed and, in addition to that, some almost forgotten local dishes. This was rounded up with a thought through wine selection and an amazing host which makes you feel at home from the start.
A must visit for anyone spending more than a few hours in Benidorm. Get away from the crowded places and enjoy some solid cooking.
