We came across this place this evening whilst looking for somewhere to eat, while the food did not disappoint, the service from one particular staff member was appalling. The older, brown-haired waitress had an incredibly rude attitude. We asked her to explain an item we pointed to on the menu and after what she explained it sounded lovely as we had never had veal before (€19) She wrote down and charged us for the wrong item which we wasn’t aware of and ate as we didn’t know what the first item was so assumed it was what was asked for. When it came to the bill and we questioned the charge (€33) she argued that it was what we had ordered and ate, refusing to acknowledge the mistake making out we were liars when both waitresses was there, even though they both spoke English she began to only speak in Spanish to the other waitress. Eventually the younger waitress agreed a compromise of €20 however we was still charged more than agreed but paid it. When it came to paying, she slammed the card reader down in front of me without a word and giving the worst looks, leaving me to figure it out myself. When I asked what the machine was asking for, she abruptly snapped, “PIN,” with no explanation, no thank you, and absolutely no conversation. Completely unprofessional.
On the positive side, the food was fantastic—generous portions, well-cooked, and full of flavor. If only the service matched the quality of the food! Fortunately, the younger, blonde-haired waitress was a saving grace. She was polite, professional, and provided excellent service, which made the experience a little more bearable.
Overall, a mixed experience—great food but ruined by shockingly rude service from one particular...
Read moreI went in to the Va Bene restaurant in av.De Bilbao in Benidorm with my wife last night and was very disappointed. The girl that took our drink order was very pleasant, fast and served our drinks quickly and was very nice and friendly. When a very tall well built young man took our order he seemed fine and it came quite quickly. He never offered me parmassan or black pepper for my pasta, so l asked for them, he did not seem pleased but went for them and after about 3 minutes he came with the parmassan but no black pepper, so l asked for the black pepper but he walked into the kitchen, which l found out later he walked passed the pepper, came out he kitchen then back in and came out with two dinners and took them outside to other customers. I have now had my dinner for about 5-6 minutes but still unable to eat it , so l asked when my pepper was coming but he acted aggressive and said he was serving other customers. When he brought the pepper it was about 7 minutes since l received my pasta. The pasta was bland ,although my wife enjoyed her pizza and to top it off l got a black hair in my meal and my wife is blonde and l am grey and 74 years old. Every other diner git a lemonchello but we were not offered one when we paid the meal, l asked for the manager or owner but was told they were.not available, although a very nice girl came and asked the waiter about my cocerns but they spoke in Spanish and l don't know the outcome although she did apologise to me. One person caused this, we felt like he took a dislike to us for some reason and we never have problems or...
Read moreWe decided to visit at late afternoon while on a walk with kids.
Restaurant was opened but empty at the moment - which was fine with us. But staff gave us awkward looks when we entered. I did catch that, but didn't think much about it at first.
Only 4 of us (2 adults, 2 small children) and staff, in whole restaurant.
We ordered drinks.
The plan was to have one pizza for our boys to share as a snack. While we would have 2 tiramisu, along with some wine and a moment of relax.....unfortunately it was denied:
Lady who was taking the order sudenly turned around on her heels and walked away without any word!
We were sitting completely baffled and unsure what is actually happening...that was weird and disrespectful.
Than finally the other member of 'customer service' approached us to inform that they will have to charge us EXTRA because there is minimum requirement of ONE DISH PER PERSON in that restaurant!
One normal/adult size pizza for two kids (8 and 5 years old). And two tiramisu for me and wife. Along with drinks. Not good enough ...... IN AN EMPTY RESTAURANT!!??
🙄
They did not choose to give us a suggestion for one more dish, or any solution in a friendly manner. Just that looks again.
The intention was clearly to create a problem.
We had enough.
No choice but to leave after having just drinks and not ordering any food at all.
Nice approach, great...
