We went for lunch in late May two people. The place looked fabulous. It was the reason we were attracted to it.
The first impression of the staff not so great. We walked in and the staff were sooo so busy chatting and laughing amongst themselves they barely noticed us. Did we have a reserva? No. We could sit allí. Allí was a place indicated by a wave of the hand and not by “ please follow me this way” . No we did not follow a host ….more sort of go up there and sort it out for yourselves. Dead fly on the plate in front of me at the table. A young girl came to take our order. She was focussed, brief? Brief to the point of rude. Did we want a glass of wine? She didn’t ask. I was going to ask for….it didn’t matter she had gone. I had merluza it was ordinary. It tasted as if it had been frozen and, once thawed, it’s texture had turned to mush. The fish had a sauce, the sauce was white, in both colour and flavour, My wife had rice something suggesting calamares that were scant in volume. It arrived as a bandeja. Enormously, over salted. A salt that destroyed anything else that may once have had value and had been reduced to texture only. Euros 66 for us for two mains. For such very poor service and ordinary food, the value proposition was not here.
Que vergüenza. There are, in my opinion, and experience, better...
Read moreDisappointing for the price. The best part was the wine recommended by the server and even that was on the pricier side. Also want to give some slack since it was holiday season (Dec-Jan) so many places are not open and they might be busier than usual.
We went in intending to order a la carte but got pretty heavily pushed to order the tasting menu. The waiter pitched it as a good way to sample everything, but it was a poor sample. Everything was okay at best and nothing stood out. I've had much better meals for much cheaper and without the fine dining posturing. Not sure if a la carte would have been better, but I wondered if the reason they pushed so hard for the tasting menu was because nothing else was prepared.
The service was also rushed, with dishes collected as soon as they looked done. One dish wasn't even complete and we had to insist a few times to keep it on the table. Perhaps they were busy, but definitely dampened the mood since we were rushing to finish dishes.
Otherwise the atmosphere was pleasant and the decor was nice. Would recommend elsewhere, but if there's no other option, the food is alright (just expensive given...
Read moreReally disappointing. Asked for a wine list, but there were no paper menus. I had to scan a QR code and then scroll up and down on my phone. Almost impossible, and unusable. Also, call me old fashioned, but sitting in a restaurant with your partner on a phone is rude. Therefore we opted for the tasting menu and the sommelier recommended a wine. The wine was lovely, and the first two dishes were totally delicious. Next came a prawn cocktail which was OK I suppose, but not that exciting. Then a perfectly cooked scallop smothered in some spiced mayonnaise which completely overpowered the flavour of the scallop. Next beef with fries. The fries had so much salt on them they were inedible and the beef had an odd flavour and texture; my partner left hers almost untouched. For dessert a slice of chocolate cake that was alright, but hardly high end. Really didn't justify the price of 132 euros for...
