I was recommended this restaurant on my visit to Cordoba and it didn't disappoint! Wonderful restaurant, minutes walk from the Mezquita. So much character! The food is really good, staff are great and the service excellent. It has different areas. We sat on the one with exposed thick light brick and stone walls and dark exposed beam ceilings. The deco is very accomplished, no doubt helped by the use of two marble colums over 1000 years old! The food was delicious. We had a selection of tapas as recommended by the manager, the portions generous and the food delicious. Cordovan salmorejo very good, soft and creamy and village bread basket. Caliphate tempura aubergines delicious. Oxtail croquettes, tuna with mojito sauce, and sauted baby squid with coleslaw really well cooked and tasty. The combination of textures and flavours made every dish sing. Cordovan cake was a fitting end to a delicious meal. Highly recommended! I initially gave it a 4*, although clearly deserving of more. Therefore, after careful consideration and taking everything into account, I feel that 4* does not do justice to this restaurant. The quality of ingredients, cooking and presentation of the food, which was delicious, was all of high standard. Coupled with the great staff and excellent service provided, it is, in my experience, certainly closer to 5*. In reality, it would be 9.5/10. Indeed, very highly recommended!

I had a beautiful dinner at Bodegas Mezquita. The staff are very friendly, attentive, and they speak and understand English well which is a bonus. Angy was a delight and she made sure I was comfortable with everything. I had a salmorejo, fried eggplant, and rabo de toro (oxtail stew). Everything was perfectly delicious! I initially didn't plan to order the salmorejo because I'm not usually a fan of tomato-based cold soup, but when I saw the reviews of this place I thought, might as well try it while I'm in Andalucia. Glad I took the risk as the creamy soup was flavourfully complemented by jamon and egg bits. I was the most pleasantly surprised by the fried eggplant; it was fried to a crisp and drizzled with a sweet sauce that just elevated the dish to a whole new level. The oxtail meat was soo tender, and having it with its sauce and some fries was perfect. Making reservations is also very easy. Overall one of my best dinners in Andalucia!

We got 4 things…. Oxtail croquettes and the Mozarabic meatballs- very good!!!! We ordered more Oxtail croquettes with mayonnaise because they were the best ones I’ve have in so long. I would get the biggest portion of these! So GOOD! Tuna in mojito sauce was not good, in my opinion. Caliphate eggplants in batter with Pedro Ximéner, sweet wine reduction and sesame seeds was just fried…. Not bad but not the best. Sangria was a little too sweet. Although ALL the food was not my absolute favorite, I would recommend this place because the croquettes and meatballs, or some thing I would come back for. It’s definitely worth a shot because they have a little plates that are very Shareable. Fantastic staff and cute waiters.

Delicious tapas and extremely friendly and professional service - muchas gracias Andrei! I was travelling alone and the staff made me feel welcome and comfortable. The atmosphere is relaxed. I had the salmorejo (I could taste that it was made with really good olive oil), oxtail croquettes and tuna dish, as recommended by Andrei. They were all very tasty. I was pleasantly surprised by the tuna dish (I have had one too many over cooked tuna in the past)! The other dishes looked amazing too. I will definitely recommend Bodegas Mezquita for anyone looking to have a delicious and enjoyable meal in Cordoba :)

Generally the Bodegas Mezquita restaurants in Córdoba were exceptionally good. All the dishes were really, really tasty and quite special combinations. The Riberas branch was especially nice, as you have beautiful views and can sit outside. I especially recommend the orange salad with bacalao, toasted almonds, black olives and syrup as well as the Califal aubergines with honey or the mudejar albondigas (meat balls) or the Salmorejo (similar to gazpacho) or Mazamorra (almond, garlic and bread soup). But in fact every dish war just excellent and we ate there almost every day to try them all...

Super delicious local tapas. I ordered the local oxtail with chips, tuna in a sweet pineapple salsa, and of course Cordova's very own Salmorejo (a gazpacho-like cold soup) with salted jamon and egg on top. Everything was SO good! I paired my meal with a mug of local beer. Not only was the food delicious, but the service was incredibly friendly and responsive. Grab a table outside on the sidewalk to enjoy the beautiful weather. So incredibly relaxing! And the location can't be beat, just steps away from the Mezquita. Would highly recommend this place for your next visit to Cordoba!
