Restaurante La Tagliatella — Restaurant in Cartagena

We arrived just after opening time on a Sunday evening, wandering around Cartagena, and there were already quite a few tables filling up with families and couples - which to me is a good sign that somewhere is worth visiting. We were greeted with a warm welcome and given the option of spots to sit in. The menu is expansive with lots of authentic Italian options for starters, mains and desserts. The pasta mains can be had in your favourite type of pasta shape or tortellini/ravioli etc. We shared a lovely Stabuona Pizza (Tomato, Mozzarella, Grana Padano DOP, Bacon, Sweet Ham, Peppers and Honey) as a shared starter and two of us had the Entrecote (Ribeye Steaks) for main meals one with the blue cheese sauce and one with the Diane sauce (both nice but I preferred the Diane as it was lovely, rich and creamy) & one of us had the Rustica Ravioli. We had a large bottle of mineral water (Solan De Cabras) and a bottle of the Chianti DOCG which was delicious. Everything was superb; authentic Italian food, cooked to perfection and served up by happy, friendly staff, where nothing was too much trouble. If I find myself in Cartagena again, I will pop back in there for sure! Just check the opening times on Sunday because I think it says 7pm opening but it's actually 7.30pm (or at least was when we visited at the end...

It's a lovely restaurant and the food is okay but today's experience was not.

The waiter knocked the bottle of red wine over my husband, soaking his trousers and splashing his top. A half hearted apology was offered but there was no effort to help clean up my husband's clothing; they were more concerned about the table and no comment about losing half a bottle of wine.

When the bill came we were charged for a full bottle. When we pointed out what had happened there was still no apology but a take away bottle was offered. Not what you expect from this standard of restsurant. Eventually, the cost of the wine was removed from the bill but with extremely poor attitude.

We will certainly not return. There are equally good restaurants in Cartagena with much better service...

Beautiful restaurant, untrained staff. Sadly service was terrible. Brought wrong drinks twice, wrong starter, no cutlery with the starter. A Shared dish of Food and drinks just dumped on table no offer to pour or serve anything. It was a weird experience. Most of the food and drink was ok (we ended up eating and drinking what we didn't order as it was easier than sending back a second time) but had to return one dish of Mac cheese. It was runny like water no flavour literally no cheese. We went at a non busy time as well.

It was a shame because it is a beautiful restaurant. I'm not one to complain but was upset and disappointed.
