Chaplin's Bar — Restaurant in Ciutadella

Went here purposely to watch the Liverpool champions league game, as they were advertising they were showing it, been sat in the bar good 45mins before the game starts, everybody else in the bar/restaurant was facing the harbour or gone there to dine, nobody else was there as far as we could see to watch the games, we sat on the sofa in the corner near the ramp, where there was a television in this area only our sofa could see, as the match is about to start, my husband asks the waiter if he could put it on this TV for us, which he does happily even faces the TV more towards us, 5 minutes later the lady waiter comes over and changes the channel to another match, there was no one else watching this TV other than us, in fact no one was watching any of the other tvs they wasn't even facing them, so my husband went and ask her to change it back to the match we had come In for, she just ignored him, so he asked another waiter, who spoke to the lady, and seemed like he was trying to make her see sense, but she refused, so guessing she's some sort of management, we got told if we wanted to watch it we had to move to other end of bar, which would of been dining chairs and table, we was there to drink and watch the match not to dine, so we got up and took our custom elsewhere. The 2 stars are for the gentlemen waiters, the lady lost the bar hours...

Went here to watch the F1 Grand Prix. Had a couple of pints of Guinness before my wife arrived. She ordered a small beer and after 15 the waiter admitted he had forgotten. Waited another 15 minutes and decided to leave. I said I wanted to pay for my two pints and he asked about the small beer. I explained we didn’t receive it. No apology, just an abrupt “14euros” Handed over 15Euro and waited. Eventually he gave me 5 x 20 cent pieces. Still no apology so I kept the euro change. The only negative experience we’ve had in a whole week here. I always tip generously but this fellow needs a lesson in customer service. The lady who served the Guinness was very friendly, but the attitude of this one member of staff means we will never return...

Had four great afternoons in here no problem but on Fri 29th Sept late afternoon had a very different experience. After a staff change the new younger staff were very rude and after asking for the bill even though not busy made us wait over half an hour. It was obvious they had decided to keep us waiting and after asking all three staff for the bill we still sat there, when asked why he said I'm not really bothered. Well good for him even though I'd been overcharged the day before we were still happy to return, well not now my advice is go morning or early afternoon and avoid evening staff completely.
