Terrible Service - Avoid at All Costs!

I had an absolutely shocking experience at S'Arenal Portocolom. Upon arriving, I stood at the bar for at least 7 minutes, completely ignored by the staff. There was someone behind the counter, and another customer came to pay, but I was still completely disregarded. It soon became clear why: this place treats its customers with utter disrespect.

Eventually, a dark-haired waitress came by, walking around barefoot, which I found quite unprofessional. I told her I wanted to order at the bar, but she insisted on assigning me a table. So, I followed her and ordered a Coca-Cola. She told me to sit down, and I thought, "Okay, so far so good." But that’s where the "service" ended.

For the next 20 minutes, I watched this same waitress joke around with her colleagues, ignoring me entirely despite my repeated attempts to catch her eye. I was clearly being snubbed. She had absolutely no intention of serving me. After waiting far too long, I decided enough was enough. I stood up, ready to leave, and headed to a nearby supermarket to get a drink.

Before leaving, I confronted her, telling her that I was leaving because I had been completely ignored. Her response? A snippy, dismissive "Okay, bye." No apology, no attempt to make things right – just pure arrogance.

Service is an absolute catastrophy. The location would be good and the food as well (we ate at another restaurant of this chain) but I would advise you to find another restaurant if you want to enjoy your time. We had a reservation but when we arrived they tried to give us an extremly terrible table next to the bar while the restaurant was half empty. When we asked for a nicer table, we were told if we want to sit somewhere else, we can only stay for one hour. (Which of course would be no problem at all, if the restaurant was actually busy!) During our one hour stay at this nice place with the worst staff imaginable the restaurant was never filling up. It’s an absolute tourist trap and all they are after is your money. The five of us would have easily spent 300 to 400 euros here if we were allowed to eat but as the waiters absolutely don’t give a damn about you, we just had drinks and went somewhere...

Very disappointing experience. We had reserved sun beds in advance and arrived at 11:00 AM, within what we assumed was the acceptable time frame. After searching for the responsible staff member, we were told we were one minute late and our reservation was no longer valid. No flexibility, no understanding, and absolutely no service attitude. It’s not just about the sun beds—it’s about how guests are treated. A simple gesture of courtesy or a willingness to help would have made all the difference.
