Casa Colon — Restaurant in Fuengirola

This is a really great place to go, the food and atmosphere are excellent. We have taken friends several times now, and everybody just loves it. Well worth a visit.

Edit 3 years later: The restaurant is a good experience and worth a visit. However it gets very busy, and they don't need your custom. Get past that, and your expectations will be met.

On arrival if you want a table, you must physically see it has been written into 'the list'. Do not assume this has been done, watch the waiter write your name down and make a mental note of his.

If you don't do this, you will be expected to prove otherwise. If you can't and they are busy, depending on your culture you may be forgiven for being annoyed by this.

In short - we arrived early, a waiter at the entrance to the restaurant wrote our name down (in invisible ink) we sat down at the bar whilst we waited for our table. The shift changed, the original waiter vanished and rest is history (refer to 1 & 2).

This only based on beverages. Me and my girlfriend came here to enjoy something to drink before dinner. The atmosphere was great and the restaurant has a really nice location in the centre of Fuengirola👌 She ordered the house red rioja. I ordered a Gin and tonic (Gin mare) and asked if the bartender could make a Spanish variant with the some of the amazing local produce the area has to provide. Ref. Lemon, orange, rosmary, thyme, basil and olives 😍 Which there should be no problem to fix. To my disappointment what I got was less than a slice of a lemon as a garnish, normal Schweppes tonic and no other options. I asked the bartender if they had some olives on the side and sadly they had nothing. The staff also seemed quite stressed even though this is considered to be off season… This could easily have been a better experience if the bartender and staff would have put more into it. Couldn't tell you about service, food or atmosphere. Tried 3 times, was willing to wait for a table, one time we were told we could wait and he would let us know, at least 3 groups were seated before we confronted him and told again to wait, no booking available for this restaurant otherwise we would have booked. The staff did not want to know. They were in no way interested in us getting a table. It may have been because we have a 2 year old, which is fair enough, but at least have the courtesy to admit to that. Honestly, I'm not sure the food could be good enough to make up for the apathy. I expect that in the south of France, we were astounded to encounter it here. I would say that every other restaurant we visited in Fuengirola has been populated by absolutely delightful staff.
