Just came back from this restaurant. At the beginning everything was nice, but at some point ALL the guests started coughing, we felt very scared, because it all looked like a pandemics movie. The staff didn’t care at all, even though the guests from different tables started talking to each other, worried about the situation. After more than 5 minutes coughing I asked a waiter to open the entrance door to get some air, what he did, even though he didn’t seem very happy about it. After couple of minutes he closed it, obviously it was cold, but we preferred that to being poisoned. In a minute people started coughing again. During the next 10 minutes 3 out of 7 tables paid and left, many people still coughing. I had to ask the waiter to open the door again, which he did, looking very upset. We never got any apology or explanation of the situation. What I don’t understand is, how can it be, that in a restaurant, where something obviously went wrong, the staff instead of solving the problem and opening the doors to get some fresh air, was just looking at people coughing??? Writing the review still pretty shocked that something like that can happen at a restaurant and that guests don’t even deserve an explanation of...
Read moreat best mediocre and overpriced in my view. what did i like? the location is great, the menu looks good at first sight (french fusion). the offered local produce (marked as local on the menu) and daily specials only-are good and help the overall rating. what is not good? dont take stuff from the menu… its not well prepared…e.g. the onion soup is bland and not an onion soup. in my case the main course (meat) was overcooked and followed with 3 small potatoes and a small pepper. service is in my view rude and ignorant (if you ask for a local wine and get a french one…well i guess the french bottle was open). there are good other alternatives to eat in that area. if you want to go there… insist of local wine (which was excellent btw… but you have to insist to get it and the local IPA beer is good as well. cheese -local- platter...
Read moreI had a very disappointing experience at Vintages in Girona.
Despite booking a table for two the day before at 21:00, they sold our table to another customer and were extremely unhelpful in finding a solution.
When we arrived at the restaurant and asked for a solution, they were rude and unaccommodating, insisting that we had booked the table for 20:45 (which we're certain wasn't the case).
The restaurant was almost empty and very dark, which didn't make for an enjoyable dining experience.
We eventually decided to dine at another restaurant down the street, where the food was fantastic and the staff were very friendly.
I would definitely recommend giving Vintages a miss and instead trying one of the many other restaurants...
