What a gem along Calle Nava (famous street in Granada for tapas)! We stumbled upon this restaurant entirely by accident because I navigated my parents and myself to the wrong address and ended up in Calle Nava. We chose this restaurant due to the high ratings and it did not disappoint!! We ate here two weeks ago (mid Nov 2023).
The owner was super nice and gave us three a small table (outside) even though his restaurant already was full. We loved sitting outside since the atmosphere was super lively and festive!
There is English menu and owner is so friendly and tried to explain each dish with his limited English which we appreciated!
We ordered four dishes: grilled squid (pulpo), salad with ham & tomato, meats dish (includes blood sausage), and pork knuckle (codillo). As well we got two sangrias and sparkling water and bread. We were also given TWO complimentary dishes!! A small crab cracker tapas immediately when we sat down (even before ordering) and then seared tuna between our dishes arriving. The food tasted super delicious and portions were on the large side! My mom and I LOVED the grilled potatoes that accompanied a lot of the dishes. The owner kindly packaged the leftovers for us to take back to my sister who was sleeping at the hotel.
Owner was also attentive and cleared plates off our small table as dishes were eaten to give us more room. He even switched out our big plates for smaller plates. Great service and so friendly. Really allowed us to smile and enjoy the dinner.
The price (€87 = $95 USD) was a great deal for the wonderful service, amazing food, and...

Definitely recommend booking a table as soon as possible. It’s a small restaurant. We were lucky to be able to snag a table outside.
Much like many reviewers on here, we ordered the croquettes as well as the ox tail dish. There were 3 chicken croquettes and 3 mushroom croquettes. Absolutely delicious! The mushroom ones tasted like the cream of mushroom soup inside. The ox tail was so tender and juicy. You can tell it was cooked with love. If you have the time & stomach space, we definitely recommend branching out and trying some of their other specialities — I’m sure they could do no wrong!
We also got a plate of tomatoes drizzled with spices and olive oil as a tapa when we ordered a drink. Something so simple yet deliciously fresh and mouthwatering. This trip changed my perspective on tomatoes forever!!
Julio was the friendly face that took care of us and he’s the epitome of hospitality. We haven’t met a waiter as welcoming as he was. Highly recommend checking out this place and putting it on your to-eat list. It’s worth the price. We hope to be back one day to try out the pork...

El Rincón de Julio was one of the absolute highlights of our time in Granada. From the moment we stepped in, we were welcomed with such warmth and genuine hospitality that it felt more like visiting a friend’s home than a restaurant. The atmosphere is cosy and full of character, the kind of place where every detail feels thoughtful and inviting.
But the real magic lies in the food. Every dish we tried was beautifully prepared — bursting with flavour, perfectly seasoned, and clearly made with care and high-quality ingredients. You can taste the love in the cooking, and there’s a real sense of tradition behind it all. It’s hearty, comforting, and incredibly satisfying without ever feeling heavy or overdone.
The service was impeccable — attentive without being intrusive, and the staff were more than happy to guide us through the menu. It’s rare to find a place that gets everything so right: ambience, service, and food.
We left full, happy, and already talking about coming back. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to experience a soulful, authentic meal in the...
