Mercato Italiano Restaurante Pizzeria — Restaurant in Granada

We had dinner there with my friends and we were all disappointed by the food and service, which is a pity. I started going to Scolapasta since 2019 which is now Mercato Italiano shop. I’m not sure if it’s still good, but in the past their pasta was incredible. I used to buy their frozen pasta too, it was always 10/10. So I invited my friends to their restaurant thinking it should be the same level, but it was not at all. The pizza is wet, we tried different pizzas and the tomato sauce made the pizza soggy and there was not enough cheese. Too doughy and not good, my friends have been to Italy and my boyfriend is Italian, they said it didn’t taste very authentic. The price for some pizzas is quite high, like 14 euros. We ordered 2 salads, one with guacamole and their other salad. The flavor and ingredients were not good. I ordered their pasta with pears (I’ve had this pasta many times at la piccola and other places, it’s one of my favorites and I know how it’s supposed to be). Their pasta had raw pears on top, unflavored. The cream was too heavy, ravioli were doughy and tasted like potatoes inside, no caramelized flavor of anything. Not worth 16 euros. Lastly, the service was not great. I think they don’t have enough waiters to handle the terrace, our waitress took a long time to come or take our order. She didn’t bring the plates we asked for, only brought 2 plates for 4 people. I am not sure why this place is so different from the shop I used to...

Amazing pizza in an excellent location! This small pizzeria is located inside the market and offers a nice option to see the market and eat some good pizza. The ingredients are super fresh and great - we had a couple margharita pizzas and a pasta - all were super delicious. The staff and service are pretty awesome as well. Highly recommend!

I came to have pizza right after I was mistreated at another establishment because of my nationality. I'm an American tourist. We've all seen the behavior by the spaniards towards tourists. I was ready to put the entire country in my rear view after the incident of hatred. But I changed my mind after I had pizza with these folks. The young lady who helped me was beautiful, polite, and kind. The pizza was absolutely delicious. Can't wait to go back. Thank you, ladies....
