This review is for the Perromedio Taberna, C. Marques de Gerona, 17 location.
Stumbled across this gem after noticing the largest, most beautiful tomatoes in their window. I had to stop and ask if they were real. (Yes!) Victoria was so gracious and professional, I assumed she was the owner. The food was excellent, we ended up eating here 2 of our 3 days in Granada. We started with tapas of cheese and raisin, the freshest cheese I've ever tasted. The first day I ordered the burrata salad for some greens, which was delicious and came back for the tomato salad, which I still dream about. My husband had a pastrami sandwich both times. I've never tasted a pastrami I liked until bite of this, which was amazing. Inside is quite intimate, seats around 12 people, but every inch of space was used creatively and was interestingly and thoughtfully decorated. I left the restaurant ALREADY planning to write this glowing review, when Victoria came and found me on the street to return a 100 euro which I left on the table thinking it was a 10 euro tip. So, truly a lovely experience in all regards! Honestly can't think of one negative...
Read moreThis place was such a hidden gem! It’s located in the central areas of Granada near the tapas bars. I came here after a very disappointing experience at a tapas bar in hope of a meal that would save my night and Alhambra and Iberico came to the rescue!
Vibe: I usually research the places I go to eat at pretty thoroughly but I found this place by walking by and couldn’t help checking it out cause the vibe looked amazing. I looked it up quickly and saw it had decently good reviews. Packed with locals catching up, but not in an overwhelming sardine can way where you barely have room to breathe.
Food: A good bocadillo done right goes a long way. It’s a simple dish, so it requires high quality ingredients for it to to shine. And this place did it very well!
Service: In addition to the delicious food, the servers were very attentive and helpful and checked in on my despite it being quite busy.
I enjoyed my meal so much I took one to go for breakfast the next day. The price is slightly higher than the average bocadillo you get on the street, but you’re getting top notch...
Read moreOur first meal in Granada after a difficult train journey that was riddled with unexplained delays. Just a short stroll from both the Cathedral and the Plaza de la Trinidad where we were staying, this delightful little establishment was the perfect cure to our flagging spirits.
To begin with, the wonderful waitress was all sunshine and whatever ennui we might have dragged through the door was magically dispelled by her cheer (with a little help from the vermut too, I must admit). We had the very refreshing burata salad, the meatballs and our favorite recent discovery, partridge patè. Honestly, a slice of baguette dabbed in olive oil and a dollop of patè de perdiz is the best distraction from life's more intractable problems, I think.
This is not a large establishment with maybe enough seating for a couple dozen customers at best. I'd say it's the perfect size for a more intimate dining/ drinking experience compared to the cavernous tabernas that can get loud and raucous when busy. The food was very decent, and of course, the service for us was...
