We sat down at a table outside. It was full, but the waitress didn't even bring us the menu at least for 15 minutes. I could understand that they're busy, so I went to the place there are menus by myself and took ones for us. The waitress didn't come to us to have our orders for more than 30 minutes and she went to other guests who came later than we did. So I waved my hands to inside the restaurant and called another waiter. We ordered two starters and wanted to get black paella. We asked him how big the paella is, and he answered, if we want to share a paella they can make a portion for two people. So we ordered clearly the bigger one (Yes, we did). The waitress brought us just one of the starters for my friend, however, another one for me wasn't brought for 20 minutes. The guy who took our order came us and explained, there were some mistakes but he'll bring us another starter which I ordered and the paella "Now". He tried to give us some pieces of bread (which costs only 1.1€ as I remember) for free, but we didn't take them because what we needed was not some pieces of bread, but what we ordered. Another starters was served in two minutes but it took us ten more minutes to get the paella, and it seemed to be too small for two persons, so we asked the guy if it's for two persons and he was like "No, and you ordered just one portion". Well, it can happen that the waiter takes the order wrongly, but no, we clearly ordered the one for two persons, we definitely said "We take the big one then". Foods were OK but I found the paella too salty. At the end, we wanted to pay so called that waitress. She obviously ignored us so we needed to shout. Then, we saw that they were just chilling out with some their friends. After 16 minutes (This time I checked my watch), she finally brought us the bill, without to say ANYTHING and she LITERALLY threw the bill on our table. We put the money on the bill and she just took them, and after all, she threw the change again on the table, again without saying anything like "Sorry for being late" or "Thank you". It took us 20 minutes just to complete the payment (on that time there were much less guests). I went to the waiter (he said he's the MANAGER) and complained about all of this. He said he didn't understand why I was so angry and said, "20 minutes is a short time for a life" (YES HE SAID THAT TO ME, CAN YOU IMAGINE?????), and said, "Sorry but we are very busy". Come on, why don't you hire just more sfaffs then? While I couldn't find any words to react, he suggested us to give us back money and we accepted that, which was the only good point for this miserable experience.
Conclusion: We didn't understand why the waitress could be so rude to us. Anyway, we unfortunately couldn't enjoy our night in Granada and won't recommend to anyone, unless your hobby is wasting money with the empty stomach in your limited time in Granada.
(Postscript)
Of course it is fair to write down here to inform other people what happened at your restaurant. I'm posting this not to give you advices. No, we were not unfriendly in the beginning at all when we seated. You didn't even come to our seat at all for 15 minutes, how can you say "You were already unfriendly when you seated"? Was it your "Efficient service"??? We clearly saw you were just chatting with your friends though, without doing anything for us?? We were not angry because you did mistakes, it happens as I wrote. That waitress let us wait for 16 minutes long just to give us the bill, even though there were much less guests and she was chatting with her friends, and she throw the bill and change on our table without any words, isn't that rude and unfriendly? Do you think the customers expect such a rude...
Read moreI usually don’t feel the need to leave bad reviews, but what I experienced tonight left a bad impression. Thus, I am speaking up in hopes that the server we interacted with will learn to treat their future guests equally and with integrity.
Our hotel recommended we try this restaurant. I have since spoken with our concierge and advised them to no longer recommend this establishment.
We were a group of 4. We asked in English if there was a table available and the server asked us to wait, he said he would have to consult with his partner.
One of our group waited inside. The rest stood outside to wait. It was evident we were waiting to be seated.
We saw a table for 4 by the door available. I asked the same server about this table. He said no, that table can only seat 2 people. Thus, we waited patiently for 5 mins when a woman walked up to the same server. She spoke in Spanish (right in front of me) and said “she didn’t have reservations, did he have a seat for a group of 4.“
Right away, he granted her the available table that he had told us was supposed to be for “2 people only”. Maybe he did not realize I understand Spanish.
We complained right away. We were here first, why was this man blatantly pushing us aside for another group? Another server got involved and said it was a mistake. They were so busy it can get confusing and they can seat people out of order.
From my standpoint it was not a mistake. It was a clear brush off from the original server. Discriminatory.
I would like to give what happened the benefit of the doubt, however, impressions matter. And the impression that I observed was discrimination.
The other server apologized about the mistake and then got upset saying “I have apologized 3 times already what do you want?!”
Then they said they did indeed have a table available and walked us towards the basement. We said no thank you.
The whole situation was hypocritical.
If this basement table was readily available from the start, why was it not offered to begin with?
The original server told us he had to check with his partner for a table for 4. When the other woman came asking for a table for 4 he did not give her this excuse.
He made another excuse that the available table with 4 chairs could only seat 2 people. When the Spanish speaking woman asked for it, this story changed and suddenly this table could seat 4.
All of these impressions and interactions have led to the conclusion that the first server had no intent to seat us from the start.
To me that is fine. If this place wishes to pick and choose who they want to serve based on how you look, we in turn do not need to support them.
We went down the street to Oliver restaurant where the service was fantastic and the food was spectacular.
I have made it clear to the our hotel that they should not recommend this business. You can choose to spend your money here if you want. And in turn I hope that this review will change the way this business treats all humans regardless of...
Read moreOur recent dining experience at this establishment was marked by a warm and accommodating Camarero who went above and beyond to assist with our order. Despite arriving as a large group without a reservation 😁, we were pleasantly surprised to be promptly seated and served a delightful dinner after a day in Granada
The ambiance of the place was inviting and spacious, perfectly accommodating our group size, complemented by reasonably swift service. The menu, abundant in choices, enticed us to sample a wide variety of dishes.
Our culinary journey began with an array of salads - tomato and garlic, tuna, and octopus - each dish proving to be exceptionally delicious. The fried seafood mix, dog fish, and other fried offerings were devoured quickly, testament to their tastiness. While the seafood and vegetarian paellas were satisfactory, they fell short of our expectations. A standout moment was when one of our companions opted for steak and found it to be enjoyable.
The only minor drawback was the need for more meticulous attention to cleanliness, particularly the floors, although our specific dining area was quite satisfactory. The pricing was reasonable, cementing our decision to revisit this charming establishment on our next...
