We went to this place based on the 5 star reviews. Unfortunately it's a generous 1 star for us and let me explain why. Guy at the register had gloves on but he would handle cash and then touch food with the same gloves. Another guy came off the street, brought in some vegetables, handled them with bare hands and then started cutting the meat on the skewer. No gloves, no hand washing. We were 4 people, only 2 of us were able to eat at the bar board inside, 2 had to eat in the street a s there was no space inside. I got a chicken shawarma on a pitta. Most shawarma places cut the meat off the skewer in front of you, so it hot and juicy. Not here. Meat was cut long before and it was stored cold and dry in an open metal container on the table, in violation of a number of health department food storage regulations. He took the meat from the container and put it on the hot plate to warm it up for a minute or so. That warmed up the chicken a bit but it dried it even more. He put the veggies in the pitta, then added the sauce on top of it, rolled it a bit and then added the meat without adding any sauce on the meat. So I ended up with a dry, barely warm chicken shawarma to eat. Again, all these with the same gloves that he handled cash. This place should be closed by the health department, it's a miracle we...
Read moreJerusalem was such a great find! Hands down, one of the best falafels I’ve ever had – crispy on the outside, soft and flavorful inside, just perfect. Honestly, for the price, the quality here is kind of shocking in the best way. It’s super cheap, especially compared to nearby spots, but the taste is far from “cheap.” Everything felt fresh, homemade, and full of flavor. What also stood out was the warm and friendly atmosphere. It’s a small place, but they make you feel at home right away. The staff were incredibly kind – the kind of people you just want to support because they clearly love what they do. Fun bonus: if you walk in and say hi with a smile, they might even offer you a little falafel sample for free – a lovely touch that made the whole experience even better. The spot itself is tiny and super casual, so don’t expect a fancy restaurant. But if you’re after authentic taste and genuine hospitality, this place nails it. I honestly think they could qualify for a Michelin star someday – they’ve got that special mix of heart, flavor, and value. Whether you’re vegetarian, a falafel fan, or just hungry and want something great on a budget, don’t skip this place. It was one of the highlights of our food adventures, and I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town. Highly, highly...
Read moreWe came here on 5th April 4pm and saw a young man in the store chatting with his Arabic looking friend. We asked was it only serving take aways because there's no table except for two high chairs facing a bench full of vegetables . The young man pointed to the chairs and say we can either sit there or on the floor . This is the rudest waiter we met in the whole 4 weeks we are here in Spain, we have nothing but praise for all the locals who serve in the service industry.
I supposed he said this because we are Asian Chinese and there's no need to accord any respect. Do note this place is just a tiny store with no table, we are not sure how it even garner a 4.8 in reviews(we came only because it had a 4.8 restaurant review score only to discover it is NOT a restaurant by any measure) , perhaps fake by the young man and his...
