Me and my siblings decided to check this restaurant out as fellow arabs who wanted to try something new whilst in Granada for the day, a few months back. After rushing up the stairs to get to this restaurant, we were pleasantly surprised by the decor and friendliness of the staff, and we placed our orders. Our starter was amazing and we were so excited for the rest of the food, but unfortunately we were extremely disappointed. Me and my sister ordered two tagines that came with no rice, the chicken had been frozen and reheated yet still cold, and practically inedible. I actually almost cried whilst eating it! My brother ordered meatballs with egg, and was surprised to find a small amount of even smaller meatballs and a fried egg in a tomato sauce that was extremely oily. We were so disappointed that we ended up paying and leaving extremely early - within 30 minutes of arriving at the restaurant. To this day, we all sit and laugh about the experience we had but are still so sad that we didn’t get the tagines we came...
Read moreThe best authentic Moroccan food I have had outside of Morocco (and better than many restaurants in Morocco too). The moment you step inside Arrayanes you are greeted and made to feel so welcome, the service and hospitality of the owner & staff is worth a visit alone! The interior feels like you are transported to Morocco, with beautiful archways, decor, and fountains inside. The menu has a lot of options to choose from, with something for meat eaters and vegetarians too. The portions are very generous, we ordered a vegetable cous cous, beef & date tagine and chicken skewer between 3 people and it was plenty! No description will do the food justice - so a visit is a must for anyone visiting Granada to see for yourself! We made a reservation for the same day (but this was for a Wednesday in November - for busy months it is probably best to book in advance), and when we arrived there was a small queue of people waiting for the restaurant to open for dinner service, it is that good! Absolutely must visit, muchos...
Read moreI stayed in Granada for a week and tried various local delicacies, including Japanese ramen restaurants, but none of them could compare with this restaurant! Although it was my first time to eat Moroccan food, it made me feel the exquisiteness of the Arab national food culture. . The food has just the right mix of meat and vegetables, and the seasoning is just right to allow the flavor of the ingredients to shine through, without being too salty or overpowering. Fresh naan is so delicious, better than the cold bread served to guests in any restaurant. The mutton tagine is fragrant and tender, and the mutton skewers are all lean meat, which is great! The vegetable soup and appetizer salad platter will greatly increase your appetite. We love the homemade mint lemonade! Overall good value for money. The boss is a kind person. He treated us to dessert after dinner and taught me how to speak Arabic. My wife and I were very happy! We decided to go...
