La Cañita Cocktail Bar — Restaurant in Granadilla de Abona

Cute place, very slow service because it was Dec. 24th, it took over an hour to get the food. Friendly waiter although he was on his own with 5 tables and the cook seemed to be alone in the back. At one point the cook came out and yelled at the waiter which was weird and uncomfortable. I am sure they are probably family. The food was average and abundant. The Cantina burger was monstrous with so much meat that it was overload. The meat was softer than ground beef, it is hard to describe. The fries were good, the bruschetta not great with mozarella half melted on it...cocktails and beer were excellent. Staff was friendly, food mainly disappointing. We heard great things about this old fishing town and their seafood and left empty handed. The whole town is geared towards mass tourisme and the quality of the food and their prices are respectively low and high. We picked this restaurant because of the good score, but feel that this is not justified. We waited over an hour for our food, while the restaurant was not at capacity. The table next to us, who arrived 15 minutes after was served first, because they complained. The octopus was tasty, the tuna carpacio frozen! Nice, pleasant and cosy by the sea eatery. Opens early and the staff are well versed in English. I'd say its a Spanish take on a British greasy spoon cafe. Great for just a coffee, drinks or food, or drinks, food and coffee. More than affordable menu with quick service too. Has both indoors & outdoor seating and they accept cash or card. After or before going you can sit and stare at the sea while sitting on a small patch of green grass edging the coast.
