Beach-Club Areia — Restaurant in Guía de Isora

Have been going there for several years and always enjoyed the views and my glass of champagne. Unfortunately, they have the most incompetent and unfriendly waiter (male waiter). I was there recently for a business meeting and after a first round serving us the waiter never came back. We wanted to order lunch, so I called him several times, with him always just replying “wait”, and a hand gesture as if I was annoying him. I didn’t even get a chance to utter a word, my hand signals were just ignored. After an hour of not being able to get him to show up at our table, we decided to leave. Again, no chance to get the check. I went to the bar where I waited another 20 minutes to pay. The waiter came to the bar several times during this time but didn’t approach me once to apologize or at least ask to see if we were alright. Very disappointed! Two stars...

Very well run little beach bar. The lady behind the bar is a machine and food and drinks came out very quickly. We've been here two days in a row now, spending most of our time on the beach in the deck chairs and surfacing every few hours for some food and cocktails. Friendly staff who happily put up with my butchered Spanish and speak English anyways.. I can recommend the Pina coladas, mango daiquiris, and they even whipped us up a vegetarian friendly club Sandwich with fried...

Staff was friendly but that’s it.

I ordered a „Caipirinha“ 2Go (which’s not really a complex longdrink!) and what I got is not even close to it!

The only taste you have is sugar! Drink ingredients: Water, Ice, lots of Syrup (not even lime juice) and I can’t say which brand/type of alcohol it was… but sure it wasn’t Cachaça!

Disappointed I am! Consider this bar is operated by the crew of 5-Star Gran Meliã-Ressort which is close...
