We recently stayed at the stunning Gran Meliá Palacio de Isora in Tenerife, in the exclusive Red Level area — a luxurious, adults-only haven with incredible service, serene surroundings, and thoughtful touches like a personal butler and private facilities. But the absolute highlight of our stay was dining at La Terrasse, the fine dining restaurant within Red Level.
From the moment we arrived, we knew we were in for something special. That night, the team at La Terrasse tailored a unique 12-course seafood tasting menu just for us — a truly personal and thoughtful touch. Every dish was paired with local wines from the Canary Islands, showcasing an extraordinary range of regional flavors.
The creativity behind the menu was outstanding — from the bold, unexpected flavor combinations to the presentation on ocean-inspired crockery reminiscent of corals and octopus. The dishes pushed boundaries while remaining deeply rooted in local ingredients. It was a dining experience full of surprises, textures, and flavors we had never encountered before. Without a doubt, this was the best meal we’ve ever had in the Canary Islands — and easily one of the finest seafood tasting menus we’ve ever experienced anywhere.
Special thanks to Vanessa, the brilliant restaurant manager, whose leadership and personal touch helped make the evening unforgettable. Walter, the head chef, is a culinary visionary — we had the chance to meet him afterwards, and his passion and creativity shine through in every course. And Daniel, the maître d’, was incredibly knowledgeable about Canary Island wines, guiding us through each pairing with insight and warmth.
La Terrasse is not just a restaurant — it’s a culinary journey. If you’re staying at the Gran Meliá, especially in Red Level, this is an absolute must. A world-class experience we’ll...

Food: 3/5 some dishes were really good (the squid ceviche with coconut was outstanding), others were ok. Overall, I found the Origins menu (the most comprehensive one) a bit boring / repetitive with multiple courses having similar taste. With similar prices, you can eat significantly better elsewhere Location: 4/5 the view was spectacular, the restaurant per se a bit plain Service: 0/5. We arrived, received the menu, and were ignored for 15 minutes before being able to order. Context: there were literally 3 waiters for 4 tables, so it was not an understaffing issue. Also, the overall service was superficial: some requests were simply disregarded (having some more bread or an additional bottle of water); in some instances we were left with no water nor wine, etc. At some point, everyone disappeared (were they too busy closing the kitchen?!): we were left standing at the table with no info (I believe we never received one of the courses in our menu) until the waiter came with the bill. We were never asked whether we wanted a coffee or a liquor, we were never asked if everything was ok. This is the bill, go away (PS: it was 10.45pm, not 1am). Awful experience from a...
Read moreA beautiful seaside setting with sunset views and a relaxed yet refined atmosphere. We did the full tasting menu with wine pairing, featuring creative dishes based on local fish and Canary Island ingredients.
The service was excellent—especially the warm and friendly Italian lady who gave us great tips for exploring Tenerife. The Marbonara, a fish-based twist on carbonara, was the absolute highlight: inventive and delicious. We also loved the fish cold cuts and the fun touch of “Canary Champagne.”
I loved the entire menu, although I didn’t appreciate the desserts as much—there was fish in them too, and I would have preferred something more traditional. Just a matter of personal taste.
Overall, a memorable culinary experience—perfect for a special evening if you’re staying...
