I booked for New Year's eve for 4 of us for the set dinner at EUR145 per person. When the menu came through and was heavy on the shellfish front with a chestnut dessert, I mentioned to the restaurant that one of our party had a serious nut and shellfish allergy so we would not be able to come. The restaurant said they could organise a vegetarian menu without any nuts or shellfish so on this basis I went ahead and prepaid for the 4 of us. When we got there, they could not have been less organised or prepared for an adult with an allergy.
First thing they said was that the member of our party "is vegan but will she be ok with the vegetarian menu?" I reiterated she is neither vegan nor vegetarian but has a serious nut and shellfish allergy. they then told me she was "intolerant to dry fruit" - I pointed out we had never mentioned dried fruit and what she has is an ALLERGY not an INTOLERANCE. Someone else then said " "oh we can give her a non-vegetarian menu just without nuts and shellfish" even though we had said she was happy with the vegetarian option. They then brought her out the same starter as us - prawn and oysters - so I pointed out again she is allergic to shellfish and nuts and they took it away and had clearly not made anything for her as it took ages for her to get her starter, which was described on the menu as "potatoes with a sherry reduction" but had sesame in it without them being mentioned on the ingredients. She tried her starter, had a severe allergic reaction, we had to call an ambulance and all spent new year in the fantastic Can Misses hospital in Ibiza while our friend was on an intravenous drip because this restaurant deal with allergies in an unprofessional and Mickey Mouse fashion. Suffice to say over 24 hours later nobody from the restaurant has contacted us to find out if a) she is still alive and/or recovered and b) to apologise for being so shambolic and having staff who were not at all aware of what had been discussed in writing. in this day and age we have a lot of choice. We left after two of the six courses to take her to hospital and spend two hours there. Avoid this place.
note the response from the venue does not include any offer of a refund for the EUR560 wasted on this...
Read moreI had high hopes for this place that were knocked down quickly. The bartender got mad and stormed off when we wanted to order water while we decided. And simply brought us nothing. When she returned and we repeated water, she literally was like "why not beer or wine" and stormed off. We should have just left. The seafood pasta was undercooked. My friend pasta had no sauce. Neither pasta had flavor. The staff looked and acted miserable. Honestly, take your money elsewhere.
The table to our right waited over an hour for their food. When they asked they were told the lurched is busy. Which is funny because the table to our left was being rushed in their courses. When they asked to have the meals held the waiter told them no. And we watched their seafood dishes be dropped off and sit while they ate appetizers. The staff is very under trained.
The only nice thing about this place was the...
Read moreWe had the most wonderful evening at Es Busosone of those dinners that lingers in your memory long after the last bite. The fish was perfectly fresh and beautifully prepared, the atmosphere warm and inviting, and every detail felt intentional without being overdone.
But what truly made the night unforgettable was Marina. Her presence brought such grace and ease to the experience. She was attentive without hovering, kind without pretense, and genuinely cared that we were having a good time. It’s rare to feel so looked after without it feeling forced but Marina made it effortless.
Es Busos is the kind of place you want to tell everyone about, but also keep to yourself. A gem in every sense. We’ll absolutely be back and we’ll be...
