The service here is appalling. On finding a dirty table with an uncollected bill, we were totally ignored for 10 minutes. We relocated to a cleaner unmade table yet still ignored without even a word of acknowledgement. A newly arrived guest brought us a fresh linen table cloth and a wine list after we had been sat for a further 15 minutes without acknowledgement from the staff. After a further 5 minutes a waiter threw 2 menus on the table but with no further acknowledgement. We might as well have been totally invisible for the attention we were given. As it was, not only did we not have a meal here but we wasted half an hour of our holiday being totally ignored and finally embarrassed by the fact that we had to leave without any attention or service whatsoever. A totally shambolic restuarant that is trading on it's location and the standard of cuisine that looked very good to be fair, but we will never get to find out as I would never consider this place to eat even if it were the last place on the planet, totally rude staff, only made better by a fellow guest with good manners, thank you!

Not even deserving of one star...

Fuertaventura is an island bursting with culinary surprises.

This is yet another one to add to the list.

The setting is amazing overlooking the small castle and the beaches high up on the cliffs.

We sat inside and boy are we glad we did. We were right next to the chef and his amazing team. They were going at it 1000 mph. The waiters in here are all bursting with sweat trying to keep up.

Don't expect fancy restaurant service here. Its full gas from the minute you step in to the minute you step out.

This ads to the charm. Hectic but very efficient kitchen and service followed by delicious meals.

We loved it here. The food is fresh and there are so many local dishes that I had never witnessed before.

It's a great experience if you you use your eyes as well as your taste buds.

Sit inside......

Superb setting above the harbour and we enjoyed a cool beer after a day in the lagoons. All the staff were very friendly and took the time to look after us with a shaded table even though we only wanted a drink. Checked out their online menu and decided we would return for dinner the next week.

Wow! Everything was tremendous from the word go. Excellent service again and We had sizzling garlic prawns and grilled majorero cheese with lovely jams to start then both indulged in the local grilled fillet fish catch served with canarian potatoes, salad and mojo sauces - gorgeous!!

Only had beer again due to driving back to Caleta but this was one of the best dinners we’ve had on the islands in 22years.

We’ll definitely be back, many thanks to all the El Roque waiters and chefs for an...

We had some absolutely delicious fish here — tuna and a local white fish. The tuna could be finished by yourself on a hot stone, which I think is a brilliant idea. There was also an excellent tuna tartare, fried eggplant, and gofio. Overall, I definitely recommend this place. It’s worth checking the opening hours, though. We were told the kitchen opens at 6:30 pm, so we made a reservation for that time, but when we arrived, it turned out it actually opens at 7:00 pm. One more thing — it’s quite noisy and hot inside due to two large fans running. This was a bit odd, as we happened to dine on one of the cooler days. Still, I would highly recommend it. I think it’s best to order smaller starters and focus on the main dishes.

Visited the place for multiple dinners. I could not recommend more black rice and mixed plate of fresh fish - amazing dishes with quite generous portions, suitable for the whole family or 2 very hungry adults. Out of deserts I would recommend cheesecake which is Canarian version, much exceeding the original. What also surprised in a positive way was gofio (it's served and eaten with the raw onion, so if you have any issues with it - maybe its not a dish for you). Other dishes that we tried were also great, but not so outstanding. What was not for my taste - chocolate desert, fried moray eel. All in all - a calm place for good food and a drink. As a bonus, you can watch a sunset directly from your table.

Obviously a very popular fish resteraunt. There was complimentary bread and canarian dips or sauces. We started with garlic prawns which came very quickly. They were already shelled. Thankfully we shared this as it was a very large portion size and very tasty. We both had a cod dish, one was the Chefs Cod and the other was Cod with a leek sauce. Both beautifully cooked, if being critical it was a little too salty for both of us. Both also came with paprika strands on top, never seen that before, a nice touch. Service was superb and you could see how busy the open kitchen was. Prices were pretty good with a good selection of wines, by 1/2 litre, bottle or glass for most.
