We came here and it was fully booked so we reserved a table for the next day. There were a few reserved tables for two people. We asked to get a table far away from the open door, but apparently all these exact tables were reserved for other 2 people reservations… I doubt it. The waiter was just not feeling like placing us there. In the first 5 minutes we were asked 3 times by 3 different staff members if we were ready to order. After ordering drinks, we waited 20 minutes to order the meals. We asked 3 waiters to order „one moment please“ „ my colleague will be right with you“ „my colleague will come“ … we finally ordered. It seems like there is no system on which waiter is working which table. Quite a few people were cold , but the door had to stay open for 2 people sitting outside while we were there. The dishes: the starters: cheese with Marmelade, not really hot, salad weak, nothing special but totally fine. Main: there is only one vegetarian main dish. The combination is weird: sweetpotatoe and ratatouille next to a vaul au vent… which should be filled… added with some cold allumette potatoes. We did not get the combination behind this dish… it was not very tasty, the legume were overcooked, the allumette cold and it was arranged like in a school cafeteria. We also had the goat stew: very rich and tasty in flavour. Truely delicious, however arranged on a weird shaped plate and … unfortunately more fat and bones than treu meat… very sad. Until the fat and bones were out of the plate to finally eat , the meat was cold. Unfortunately a true disappointment. Advice: get an overall service supervisor or replace the one you might have. Warm up the place, add veggie mains to the menu and teach the male older staff how to be truely inviting and hosting. I actually took the time now and looked at other ratings: quite a few people mention the bad service, the cold atmosphere… however the food is a matter of taste and experience and also the choice of dish.

We went to Olivo Corso twice during our stay in El Cotillo. Both times we had excellent food and we enjoyed the atmosphere. The first time the highlight was the caramelized octopus: so good and so tender that you could cut it with a fork. We also had some other tapas and appetizers and everything was great. Our least favorite was the fried tuna. I would not say it wasn't good, just not particularly impressive and tasty. When we went back the second time ordering the caramelized octopus was a no brainer. It was so good the first time that we didn't think twice about ordering it again. Unfortunately, while still tasty, it was not as tender as the previous time, and that left us a bit disappointed. The highlight of this second time was the shrimp and avocado salad- delicious! Service was great and friendly, and the food arrived extremely quickly which is a big plus when it's late in the evening and you have kids. I'd recommend a reservation because one evening we tried to spontaneously go for dinner and the sent us away because they were fully booked.

We went here on 7th March 2020, for my wife’s birthday meal. We had planned to go to her favourite restaurant in Corralejo, but after reading some reviews decided to stay local and give this place a try, it turned out to be a good decision. The food we had was excellent, but the service was even better. All the staff were so friendly and attentive, it wasn’t just one person looking after the table, but any of the staff would attend to anyone and everything that was needed. We had booked the table the day before and glad we did. Not only because it was a Monday night and several other restaurants in the town were closed that night, but also because it was very popular with locals which is always a good sign, and everyone there seemed to be enjoying themselves. When our sweet arrived they had put a sparkler in it and delivered singing happy birthday, because they had heard me wish her a happy birthday when we had our first glass of wine. The place is cozy, staff are wonderful, varied menu, tasty food and reasonable prices. Well worth a visit.

After reading so many great reviews about Olive Corso, we decided to book it for our first night in El Cotillo. Unbeknown to me, my boyfriend had planned to propose just before dinner at Faro de Tostón, so this meal was meant to be our first celebration as an engaged couple.

When we arrived, we were seated quickly and given time to look over the extensive menu. We chose a few tapas dishes to share, and the food itself was absolutely amazing. We genuinely enjoyed every bite and couldn’t fault the quality or flavour of the dishes.

That said, we were both really disappointed by the service. We didn’t mention our engagement, as we wanted to stay in our little bubble, but even so, we expected a warmer atmosphere. It felt like the food and drinks were just being dropped on the table with no smile or engagement from the staff. At one point, we actually wondered if we’d done something to offend one of the waiters. We weren’t sure if it was because we took a little longer to order, simply because we were soaking up the moment.

Throughout the meal, we noticed other tables being offered complimentary shots at the end of their dinner, but we weren’t offered anything. It’s not a big deal and we’re not the type to complain, but it did add to the feeling of being slightly overlooked.

When the bill came, the waiter barely spoke to us aside from asking where we were from. It felt like we were being rushed out, and the experience ended on quite an awkward note — which was a shame, given how special the evening was supposed to be.

Overall, the food was excellent, but the service sadly took away from what should have been a really...

RUDE, UNHELPFUL, DOWN RIGHT NASTY STAFF.

We arrived here after this being a part of the trip we had taken around the island. The place has nothing to Ofer and so we decided to have a drink and await our transport. We were served in the bar area and given our drinks with reasonable cheerfulness and then went and sat outside. After about five minutes a waitress came and told us that the manager said we must move to some seats at the other end of the building. We questioned this and another person came nd Said we could stay for now but must move if people wanting to eat arrive. There were at least five free tables at this point an no-one in sight to walk past let alone stop to eat...this place is a dead hole.

Just having a drink now but quite upset at our treatment, when up comes a really sour faced woman who says we must move to the chairs at the other end of the building. We decline and are once again upset and she says we can stay here for now. We decide to sit where they are directing us although not happy. The chairs in the designated spot are all full and so we go and sit inside the bar where we re glared at by the staff. We drink up and leave. My good lady was very upset about all this and we think this is the worst place we have ever stopped for a...
