Disappointing Experience – Would Not Recommend
My partner and I visited this restaurant for lunch and were very disappointed with the experience. We ordered the tuna tartare, fried cheese, and seafood paella.
The tuna tartare was overly fatty and lacked freshness. The fried cheese was average at best—nothing special. When the paella arrived, we were immediately suspicious due to how quickly it was served. As we know, a proper paella typically takes at least 30–40 minutes to prepare.
This version looked and tasted like a pre-made, frozen dish. Though it was served in a paella pan, it was clearly not cooked in it—the pan itself felt fake or decorative. The dish was watery, overloaded with peppers, and far from what you’d expect from an authentic paella.
We told the waiter right away that we didn’t like it, and he took the dish back and brought us the menu to choose something else. However, just a few minutes later, the head waiter approached us insisting that their food was authentic and that we still needed to pay in full, even though the dish had already been taken away.
When my partner went to discuss this further, he found the head waiter packing the paella into a takeaway box—without our consent. We were left with no option but to take the box and leave. We asked for plastic cutlery, but they had none, making the situation even more frustrating.
The head waiter also condescendingly told me I must have been expecting a Valencian-style paella, like it was my “first time” having paella—which is simply not true. We had several paellas in Fuerteventura that week, and none looked or tasted like this.
In the end, they only reduced the charge by half for the rice dish (I hesitate to even call it paella) and left us walking out with an unwanted takeaway and no cutlery.
If you're looking for a good, authentic paella—this is not the...
Read moreWouldn't go here again if you paid me. Arrived at 8pm. Took them 15mins to even realise we were there waiting. Ordered 3 main meals at 8.15pm. We waited 1hr 10mins and when they brought the order they forgot the 2 other mains and said they were "just going to start making it".
We decided to share the main course they brought us and told them to forget the other two. It wasn't very nice - paella tasted like it was made using a packet mix. They also got the order wrong. We ordered the chicken and fish paella. What came was chicken, beef, and about 5 other types of seafood.
We left half our food behind and the owner insisted we wait for the other two mains to come out. He couldn't speak a word of English so we couldn't get through to him that we'd had enough and just wanted to leave. His waiter then comes over to us and says we must pay for all the food or else "we know where your house is". Absolutely shocked these people resort to threatening customers like in that manner.
Just save your money. Don't go to this disgrace of a restaurant. You might get lucky and everything turns out ok for you but then again you might not and it will ruin your holiday. It certainly...
Read moreRestaurant Gregorio El Pescador was one of the restaurants we walked past when going to the carnival events where the main stage was. We decided to see if we could get in, and similar to the other restaurants in this area, even I. March during the carnival I’d advise booking. We hadn’t booked and they have some additional seating opposite the restaurant which we ended up in. It was Ok being sat there and the staff certainly didn’t seem to forget about anyone in that area. I likely had patron peppers as a starter (as I did a few time on this trip) and had a mixed meat skewer for main. We can’t remember what Laura had as a starter, potentially garlic prawns, as with my patron peppers her go to dish this trip, but for main course she had quite an amazing fish platter which she adored. Again we would have ordered a local wine, slightly annoying we didn’t keep a photo of the bottle. Definitely worth...
