The service was slow but that's not the worse part of it. My hubby went upstairs to place our order (octopus, grilled fish and pizza). The octopus dish was supposed to be with asparagus and wasabi mayonnaise. When my plate was served , the octopus was covered with a very untasty barbecue sauce and little chunks of bell peppers (nothing of wasabi and asparagus). When I came to tell the waiter that it's not the described dish , he first pointed at the green peppers saying this is asparagus. What a shame to fool clients like that ! Then he returned the dish to the chef and told me he would fix it. After a couple of minutes he brought me the same dish with an added wasabi mayonnaise on the side and said that they don't have asparagus today. What ? But then why is this dish on the menu? I had to return the dish as it was not the one I ordered. The meal time was not pleasant after such unprofessional service. The grilled fish was good but a bit oversalted. The pizza was ok but...
Read moreIt's all too easy to miss this place. There are a line of tables and umbrellas along the beach front but the restaurant and kitchen are set up two staircases in the building opposite with only a menu board to identify it as the restaurant. I like it that there is a multi-lingual menu as often, the English translation they automatically give you on identifying you (probably the same comment applies for German customers) lacks the subtle essence of the original Spanish. (And we do speak Spanish). This is authentic Spanish country cooking with a wide range of options. The prices are quite reasonable and we even found an Albarino wine (from Galicia) that was good value. The ubiquitous pizza also finds a place on the menu if you're not feeling adventurous, but for traditional country cooking we can thoroughly recommend being a little daring if that's something new to you. Indoor furnishings are a trifle basic, but the food overcomes...
Read moreVery, very poor! The worst experience for a very long time. One waiter was pleasant enough but the other was quite disinterested. Maybe we were exceptionally unlucky but we don't think so! The "chef" appeared to not know what he was doing. Luckily we only ordered 2 dishes...the fried fish and the tempura of vegetables: both were seriously overcooked, dry and brittle and prawns were battered and rock hard so impossible to eat. Maybe the "chef" can knock out a pizza but he has no ability for our dishes. Further, we ordered a jug of red wine which was revoltingly sweet and quite undrinkable unless it is your thing! Needless to say, we got the fish dish removed so we ended up paying 27veuros...which was still to much for what we received! So be very careful about risking it, in this place. How it has a relatively high Google rating is inexplicable based upon...
