HIERBABUENA RESTAURANTE — Restaurant in Málaga

I liked the food but the service was really bad, or awful to tell the truth. First the waitress forgot my order. Had to remind her twice. Another waitress brought in the wrong wine for me so I had to tell again what I wanted. They didnt see me when I wanted to pay so I went inside. When I got the bill they had put an extra glass of red wine on it(I had only had white and a sherry). I might add that I was friendly the whole time, and they were not. So I dont know what this is about. Do they dislike that Im not spanish? Or do they feel ashamed that their english is below basic level? I tried to fill in with the spanish I know. It didnt help. Great service and even better food. Went here twice during a four day trip to Malaga... what can I say.

The first night we shared the paella which was creamy and delicious. The seafood tasted fresh and it went down well with the freshly baked bread. We also ordered the gambas al pil pil which is the traditional garlic shrimp. So good. The waiter was fantastic and ended our night with delicious chocolates. They were alcoholic though which for us was a pleasant surprise but might not be for everyone.

The second night I ordered the sirloin steak. Cooked to perfection. My wife ordered the chicken filet which made me jealous as it was so tasty.

Entramos a desayunar mi mujer y yo en el interior del local, había opción de sentarse en la terraza. Estaban la mitad de las mesas ocupadas y aun así, tardaron bastante tiempo en servirnos y sin limpiarnos la mesa. Fuimos nosotros los que desplazamos los servicios utilizados en la comanda anterior a nosotros, a la mesa de al lado y con servilletas, limpiamos nuestra mesa. Pedimos dos cafés con leche, dos tostadas con aceite y tomate y dos zumos de naranja. Nos traen las tostadas con el tomate ya puesto en el pan, cosa que no me agradó, ya que, la cantidad me gusta ponerla yo. Pedimos el aceite en varias ocasiones porque no había en la mesa. Tras levantarme y pedirlo de nuevo en la barra, la camarera me dice que está todo vacío y mirando de un lado a otro, ve el bote de plástico utilizado en la plancha, lo coge y lo lleva ella misma a la mesa indicando que le pongamos el aceite que queramos que se lo tiene que llevar otra vez a la plancha. No suelo poner comentarios, ni buenos ni malos, pero esta vez creo que debo de ponerlo, ya que, no siempre son los clientes los que llegamos tarde y pedimos que nos sirvan, no siempre somos los que hablamos mal a las personas que atienden, no siempre somos los maleducados, como se va diciendo por ahí. También el problema es que hay muchas veces que las personas que cogen una bandeja, los que saben cogerlas, no son profesionales, no saben atender y no saben tratar a un público. En esta situación que he descrito, había varios clientes en situación similar, que nos mirábamos unos a otros como diciendo, vaya tela donde nos hemos metido. No estoy diciendo que nos hayan faltado al respeto, pero estas personas no están formadas para el puesto que desempeñan y al final, el servicio que dan afecta negativamente al cliente.
