Good Food, but Service Could Be Better
We visited Namaste Grill during our trip to Malaga, excited to try some Indian food. The food itself was great, but the service left something to be desired.
We arrived around 9:00 PM and had the option to sit either inside or outside. The restaurant was almost empty, with just one table occupied, so we chose a nice table inside. Shortly after, the manager (or owner) came over and told us the table was reserved and moved us to a less comfortable spot. Interestingly, no one ever showed up for that "reserved" table during our entire meal.
The food was very good, and I initially enjoyed my Sangria. However, when I ordered another one, instead of a fresh glass, the manager refilled my existing one with what turned out to be a mix of Fanta and cola. After we pointed this out, he panicked a bit and returned with a bottle of wine to top off my drink and offered us complimentary shots as an apology.
While the food was tasty, the inconsistent service made us feel a bit overlooked. It seemed like special treatment was reserved for certain guests. Still, if you’re only focused on the food, you’ll have a decent experience. And if you’re interested in free shots or wine, just reorder...
Read moreOn 25th December 2023, we reached there for lunch after seeing the review. When we entered we asked if there is any table available for us as the entire restaurant was empty except one table. Then one of the staff said yes and gave us a table. We ordered mushroom rice and mixed veg curry. After 45mins our order came ,but in place of mushroom rice they had given us veg pulao .We thought may be it was by mistake and it is someone else's order, so we told the same. And after 15 mins a man came with our food .It seemed the rice quantity was a bit less so we ordered another one.And then he was like "first of all , you guys did not have a reservation still we gave you food. The restaurant is very busy. You must have ordered everything in one go". He was very rude, and we were taken aback a bit. Then we said "okay we don't want the rice.Actually we were not sure of the quantity. That's why we ordered one first." Then again he answered " It is an international law sister..How didn't you know that one portion is for one person." We felt really embarrassed and awkward. We would never step into this...
Read moreWent around 7:30 and took a seat. Normally order a fair amount of food for 2 people so we took a seat for 4 as not many people there. Was told we would have to move to a 2 seat and really should of walked away then. The food tasted ok however no spice whatsoever. The naan was ok however anyone that puts tube cheese in a bread should not be cooking food. We managed to keep our 4 seat after explaining we are larger people and that we order quite a bit of food and the fact he had another 3 tables with 4 seats free. He was very very rude and after the meal finished he repeated to explain the reason he let us keep the seats. I will be honest, food was mediocre at best chicken was dry, prawns were good. No spice in any dishes. Onion bahji was ok. He then brought a bill for another table complaining that his colleague called in sick in hospital. So he was short staff and run off his feet. Glad I won't have to...
