My girlfriend and I have standards. Very high standards. She's Japanese, I'm Canadian, and we both now live in Switzerland. One could say, we're accustomed to a certain certain standard of service, and quality. If this sounds arrogant, so be it: but don't focus on us. This is about the restaurant. From the moment you enter, you know you're in the right place. The atmosphere is classy, elegant, yet- without being posh or overbearing. The owners (I believe they are a family - all working together at the place) are first time restaurant owners, if memory serves me correct - and yet, they deliver at a standard you'd expect at a Michelin-star restaurant. The food is delightful, sourced properly, fresh, and prepared with genuine care - down to every detail. You won't see any fried junk, smothered in oil, riddled with salt, and doused with sugar, in order to appeal to the most basic senses. These guys really do care - and it shows. The way they explain the menu, the ingredients they use, and of course - the final product. Both my girlfriend and I have been vegan for several years, so as many of you guys know - finding a vegan restaurant is one thing. But finding a vegan restaurant that genuinely knows what they're doing, and caters (with love) to us - is another story. These guys will exceed your expectations, regardless of the standards you're accustomed to. We visited a few other vegan restaurants while in Malaga on a short stay, and felt disappointed that we had saved this place for our last evening in Malaga. Had we discovered it earlier - this would have been our daily place to eat. Be assured, on our next time in town- this is the only place we'll eat at. Thank you - to everyone at Mimo, for the truly wonderful culinary experience! PS. Small tip: try their ice cream. It honestly tastes better than traditional non-vegan ice cream. How they do it... I have no idea. It's absolutely superb! The way they prepare mushrooms is also quite spectacular - highly recommended.

Been thinking about this review and how whilst we enjoyed our meal, we've since had better organic vegan food for far less price. Mimo is also tiny (4/5 small tables), so it doesn't really feel like a restaurant space as it gets easily crowded and the toilet is right in the dining space, so there's lots of jostling about. We had the sushi rolls (6 tiny bites for €9) which were good but not outstanding, and the mushrooms stuffed with pate. Four small mushrooms for €9. These were tasty, and both dishes were excellently presented. For mains we had the pink spaghetti and jackfruit burger. The burger was quite small with only a small handful of fries for €16. As a main it would not fill most people up. Whilst tasty, we weren't blown away by either dish in terms of taste but the pink spaghetti looked stunning and was a more filling meal. The puddings were a good size, very tasty and fairly priced - especially the pear tart. Service was excellent in terms of explaining the menu but very haphazard in terms of dishes coming out to table - we waited 4/5 minutes between both mains being served. Same noted with other tables. It's not tapas, so the table should be served together. The food was pretty good but not excellent or particularly filling, which it needs to be to justify the price as compared to other vegan places. Sadly for €76 plus tip for two (we only had two small glasses of wine to drink) I think Mimo is too expensive for frequent visits and geared to tourists rather than locals. Shame when fruit and veg are so cheap and plentiful in Andalusia. A slight increase in quantity of some dishes would help.

In two words: vegan and beautiful! I have many friends who react with fear when I want to show them a vegan food place - they are unsure if they’ll like it and they think they’ll get raw veggies on a plate to eat :D Mimo is my go to place for situations like that. It’s a cozy little place in Soho, run by a family that cares deeply about providing the best possible service and keeping the environment safe as well. They source all their ingredients locally and support the farmers and producers from surrounding areas. What I especially love is that you will get a special introduction to their philosophy from the staff if it’s your first time there - you can clearly see the care and love put into creating a place with values. The food itself is absolutely amazing! The menu changes according to the available seasonal ingredients and the creativity of the chefs has no limits: from vegan sushi to burritos, various appetizers and delicious desserts, this place puts as much emphasis on the taste as on the presentation. One of the people I brought here hasn’t stopped dreaming about coming back for the pure aesthetics of the dishes ;) (see the photos from my various visits attached) Quick tips: - make sure to call in advance and reserve, since the place is quite small, - sharing what you order is highly recommended as this way you will get a taste of the different textures and flavors used in each dish, - don’t forget to take a look at the cocktails menu (my favorite is the Szarlotka, which is the traditional Polish apple pie transformed into a drink with vodka, yummy!). Mimo - vegan and fabulous 🌱💓

I went to eat at Mimo the other day. Then I went there again. And somehow I ended up there again yesterday. How that happened? Well, this is for me the best vegan place I've ever been to. The cook Ania is very conscious about the food and serve only local, seasonal, gluten free products. You won't get junk food there and feel amazingly healthy even after eating huge burger with chips! Okay, to the shore! During my first visit, I ate ROLL IT UP starter with zucchini, shitake paste, cheesy, tomato cream. Omnomnom! Then I decided to go for a WONDERLAND PASTA. Omg, how amazing was that! Creamy, mushroomy with a fresh touch of parsley. When I was thinking I have no more place in my stomach I saw a lemon cake. So fresh, so nice, so tasty! I never tried anything like that before. Trully amazing! The second time I went there, I ate JACKFRUIT and fell in love with it. How can potato be so good? Avocado paste and sprouts on top made it the first class, well thought, integral and complete dish! I shared desserts with a friend and we had CHOCOLATE MOUSSE and day's special SPINACH CAKE. No words for that. Chocolate mousse couldn't be more chocolatey and it comes with biscuits, strawberries and cashew cream. Spinach cake is trully the best cake I've ever had and I hope Ania will repeat it soon so amongst all of you I can eat it again. Yesterday I went for the DWIGHT SCHRUTE'S BURGER and again was blown away. I love when burger is moist and has a lot of sauce! And bread that it comes with is sooo good, grainfull and makes the dish one of a kind. I'm not a fan of chips but these purple potato oven made chips I swallowed without a problem. I have to confirm previous opinions and say-best burger ever! I couldn't leave without a dessert so this time I tried RAW CAKE. Didn't surprise me how great it was. So as a frequent visitor of Mimo Vegan Bistro I invite aaall of you, vegans and not vegans to come and try. Food made by Ania is amazing, the place is run by lovely polish family that will welcome you heartwarmingly and you will feel so cosy and nice in there. Bartek will serve you and provide with all the informations and add some titbits about the products. From Aneta you can expect delicious cocktails, juices and coffee, and from Jacek-amazing drinks! If you want to drink vodka and stay healthy, Jacek will prepare you delicious alcohol kombucha drink so your balance will be zero! So totally recommend this place! This is a...
