High expectations because of so many friends giving great reviews. Good service, the dish I had was good but not great. The dishes are expensive for what you get.
Since I can't reply to your response to my initial review, I'll write it here.
I'm well aware of all the things that work against myself and other Asians, our food and our businesses, but this review has nothing to do with the experience I had eating at your restaurant. I base my reviews on several criteria: quality of service, quality of food, atmosphere, and value for portion size, my overall enjoyment of the experience. Your response is really surprisingly defensive to an "average" review.
Since you want to get into particulars, I will accommodate. For 12,50€ for one dish, which is on the higher end of price for a lunchtime menú, I gave my honest response based on what was served and the dining experience. The chicken both in and out of the dumplings was overcooked. Overall my dish was lukewarm in temperature. The two sambals were very similar in temperature and not so noticeably different. The "hotter" one had a slightly rounder fuller flavor. The overall portion size of the dish was neither small nor generous. But for 12,50€ it could have been larger. The waiter came over and interrupted the conversation while I was mid-sentence. Serving etiquette is to wait until you see an opportunity to speak to the diners not interrupting and hijacking their conversation.
Things done well, the ambiance was pleasant, the dining area and kitchen looked very clean and I felt safe sitting with you inside the market. Server was friendly and helpful in explaining things. My friend and I didn't feel rushed to leave as we sat talking and digesting our meal. I like that a lot of what's served is homemade.
My critique is not to harm but to help. Honest constructive criticism is better than beautiful lies wouldn't you agree? I'm interested in giving your food a second try giving you the benefit of the doubt and not base my opinion solely on one average experience. And if I have an above average dining experience, I will note it here and update my review.

Read moreIf you're cruising through Mercado Antón Martín and craving some serious flavor, Asian Army is an absolute must-visit. This hotspot has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants in Madrid, buzzing with energy and style, perfectly blending vibrant atmosphere and delicious Asian cuisine.
As soon as I stepped inside, I was hit with that cool, Asian-inspired vibe—think bold colors, sleek decor, and a laid-back yet lively ambiance. I kicked off my meal with the chicken noodles, and let me tell you, they were a total game-changer. The noodles were perfectly cooked, the chicken was juicy, and the savory sauce brought everything together like a symphony of flavors.
Next up was the char kway teow—a stir-fried noodle dish that packed a smoky punch. The prawns were fresh, and the crispy veggies added that perfect crunch. But the real star of the show was the nasi bakar, grilled rice wrapped in banana leaves that oozed rich, aromatic spices. It’s a flavor experience you won’t forget!
And let’s not forget their house beer. This craft brew is crisp, refreshing, and perfectly complements the bold dishes on the menu. It’s like the ultimate pairing for a culinary adventure!
The vibe is as vibrant as the food. The owners and staff are super friendly, creating a warm, welcoming environment where you feel right at home. They genuinely care about your experience, making sure every guest leaves happy.
With its vibrant atmosphere, mouthwatering dishes, and that special touch of hospitality, Asian Army is my go-to spot for an unforgettable meal in Madrid. If you want to immerse yourself in the best Asian flavors while enjoying a cool, lively setting, this place is...

Nor I am making it up.The staff also didn't seem to be happy to be working there, just to add. And please, treat customers with a respect, and don't accuse of lying, same as I did when I asked you politely for the fork.
Original: I was really looking forward to try this place for a while. Went with my friend. The service is crazy! Asked for a fork and the man who worked there took the fork with his hand all over the fork and gave it to me. I told him I want clean one. Annoyed, he gave me another one exactly the same way. I asked for a clean one as he can't give me a fork whiles touching all fork with his hands and then expect me to eat with it. He was so annoyed with me, and why? When he was the ones not giving me a clean fork buy handing it at the end not holding it from the side I have eat. Never seen anyone giving a fork like this! And was so rude! And the food was nothing special. My friend liked hers bit mine was without any flavour, and expensive for...
