Mom and pop little bar with restaurant at the back. Mom in the kitchen, dad behind the bar and junior helping out. Junior is not very junior mind you and dad and mom might not be around much more. Old school bar with the usual tapas (raciones). Good free tapas with your drinks. Plenty of youngsters enjoying gin & tonics early in the night while munching away whatever it is handed out to them. Very popular, very cheap, goes without saying. Do not expect plenty of hipster or anything design. Expect a nice sticky patina on everything while the place looks clean and sanitized enough. I ordered fixed lunch menu. The soup was very delicious. The main dish came very late. I had to wait for 30 minutes. The entrecôte still had muscles and was hard. One of the best, authentic Spanish restaurants I've tasted in Madrid. Super cheap, well situated as it is off Calle Fuencarral. I love the cozy feel and the homecooked food. The Gambas Al Ajillo is a definite must if you come here! I quite liked the Sangria as well as it wasnt too sweet.
