Everyone that knows me know that I am a huge lover of wide hand-pulled noodles, especially when they are made fresh. Biang Biang Noodles is the pioneer of that here in Capitol Hill and really ups the antics with their noodle showing.

Buuuutttt, a few things I wanted to note if you're vegan like myself and the options that they presented.

Their menu online differs slightly from what they currently offer in terms of vegan options. A lot of the vegetarian dishes claim to be able to be made vegan, but it does end up suffering just a tad bit. Lemme explain below:

We ordered the Mapo Tofu Dry Mix with an additional Noodle (4 slivers in total) ($20) and they said it could be veganized. I was excited and hopeful that they would have a vegan friendly mapo tofu mix to smother on top of our amazing noodles. When our dish came out, it was honestly just their dry chili-oil noodle with some plain tofu on top... no mapo in sight.

I was confused too at first because their tofu appetizer was apparently unable to be veganized because of the sauce, so we didn't end up ordering it "because it would've just been plain tofu." Welp, we didn't get the mapo we wanted, and I wish I had known that going into the meal.

For $20, it seemed rather pricy for what we got, but I still have to give it to them for some yummy, chewy fresh noodles. I would suggest they come up with a hearty vegan sauce option for their noodles.

Overall, definitely a good spot for meat eaters but be careful if you're a vegetarian or vegan. I can't deny though that I was living for the Chinese aesthetic and all the old Canto pop that reminded me of...

We booked our reservation about a week or so in advance, and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Really great customer service, very attentive and friendly. The decor, plates etc so detailed and the plates had their own branding with cute doodles!

The food! Although I wouldn’t say this is traditional by any standard, was really delicious and exceeded our expectations. My friends who do not like thick noodles also really enjoyed it. Dumplings were really tasty too! Perfect skin and filling ratio.

There was only one option for dessert which was a big serving! Super fresh ingredients, and would do well in a brunch bar I think.

The detail in the service, the bibs they give you before eating and fortune cookies after you finish really won me over. Honestly, one of the best restaurants with service I have seen in not only Madrid but Spain (although generally Spain is not known for its service).

Pricing was pretty good too!

I will definitely be coming back and recommending this...

Was craving for some chinese food after being in Spain for a while and decided to check this place out. I wasnt able to make a phone call since I am not local and couldnt make any calls (they require you to make a phone call if you are eating alone) so I went in once it opened and was welcomed in and given space (was told I have to finish before the next reservation came in but that made sense). Thank you for that.

With regards to the food, the noodles were handmade and the texture was nice. There were plenty of ingredients but they were pretty salty in my opinion and was missing the scallion oil fragrance. Could have gone lighter with the salt and adjust the seasoning. Overall, I have had better biang...

If you love Biang Biang noodles this is the place to eat it in Madrid. 2 meter noodles cooked to perfection, spiced with flavorful ingredients and aromatics. First place in Madrid to sell them. That too that specializes and celebrates this noodle, they've taken it to the next level. You can pick your protein and your spice level. The appetizers are really good, especially the dimsums in the classic Chinkiang black vinegar! To die for. Service is quick, attentive and warm. One drawback of the place is that is small. So you may get a table with high chairs, which isn't really comfortable. I give them 4 stars for this. Do call or reserve in advance.

I had really high expectations for Biang Biang Bar because of the amazing reviews, but my experience was a bit mixed. The highlight was definitely their signature Biang Biang con salsa sacha—absolutely delicious and packed with flavor. However, the Shanghai scallion oil noodles and the Jiaozis caseros de rabo de toro were disappointing—both were quite dry and lacked seasoning. On the positive side, the service was great, and the atmosphere was really nice, making it a pleasant place to dine. I’d come back for the Biang Biang noodles, but I wish the rest of the dishes lived up to the same standard.
