If you come for the food, it's a good choice. The food is good. However, the service falls below the hospitality standards of Spain. We reside in Madrid and are familiar with how restaurants operate in our city. We brought a friend with us, hoping to leave her with a good impression. Unfortunately, we failed in that regard. Their menu indicates a charge of 2 EUR for table service. Firstly, this practice is prohibited in Madrid by law, but I thought, "2 EUR won't hurt". The person who took our orders displayed a complete lack of empathy, was cold, and seemed unwilling to work. Their bad attitude was evident from the very beginning. When we requested additional drinks, we had to practically plead for them and then apologize for inconveniencing her by asking her to come to our table. When the bill arrived, I reviewed it and everything seemed fine, except for the table service charge: they billed us 2 EUR per person!!! This included a child under 5 years old!!! And all we had ordered were two appetizers!!! It felt as though serving us was optional, or as if we were expected to fetch the food ourselves as if it were a buffet. If that were the case, there should have been an option to choose between serving yourself or having it brought to your table, with a higher charge for the latter. However, the current charge is nothing short of abusive, especially when the staff is so unprofessional and far from meeting the expected standards for a...
Read moreWe booked a table for 19.45. The place was empty when we arrived, which was fine as we knew we were early by Madrid standards. Initially, we were served by a man who appeared to be a manager or a supervisor, and he was attentive and helpful. Later, another waiter took over our table. When the main courses arrived, one was missing. He indicates he was bringing it immediately, then disappeared. After 10 or more minutes, I caught his eye from a distance and waved for attention. He acknowledged me but did not come to the table. Another 10 minutes passed, and he then brought the dish to the table. We told him that at that stage, we no longer wanted it. He insisted on leaving it anyway. He then engaged a couple of times with our original server, pointing out our table from the far end of the restaurant. They eventually took the dish away. Mistakes can happen in any restaurant, but in this instance, the manner in which they handled the situation was rude and unprofessional. Two of us ordered Indian chicken, which was served...
Read moreI went for lunch with Family. The place is really nice and the food was quite good, I think finishing salt on my octopus would have made it a full 5. The place is bright and open. That’s where the good ends. I think the wait staff and people attending needs to be trained in etiquette. Since we arrived the vibe was off, rudely were told about the wines and then when we ordered we asked questions on a preparation and were answered as if we would need to know how it was prepared. when they changed cutlery they almost threw it at us and the when the food arrived the bonk on the table was loud when the plates were thrown on the table. We were always very polite and yes I speak Spanish natively, so tones and words are clear. Once we were done we asked for the check and left. I felt uncomfortable at that place. This is sad because I would visit again for the food, but wont be doing so...
