Service: service was quite slow, but eventually we got what we needed but I had to stand up to order something once, had to flag server down to pay three times ,waited for check for 21 minutes after dishes were cleared and we asked the first time. No English spoken but it worked as the menu you get on your phone with a QR code and read the menu in English, and you can always point, and it has photos which is helpful.
Salmon nigiri Delicious, rice was quite well done, good vinegar to honey ratio, and good proportion to fish. Salmon melted in my mouth. I wish this was the only item I ordered it was so enjoyable.
Traditional sushi pizza: tasty. As a dish they overpower the wonderful fish with loads of sweet sauce and dynamite salad. I'd not order this again. Was also very difficult and messy to eat. I'd prefer two more nigiri instead!
Niku Nina: grateful this wasn't fried or covered with mayo but it had far too much rice and had cream cheese. Something in the roll had a rather bitter flavor.
Makinon: overcooked shrimp, chewy. Over covered in crab salad. Covered in sweet sauce, too much rice, avocado was non existent.
Pikaton, overly cream cheese inside, overly mayo on top. Good spicy filling on the topping but could do with half the mayo.
Ambiance: modern, well lit, good modern dance music playing lightly in the background. You can still talk and read.
Overall, not enough veggies. Rolls are covered in mayonnaise, sweet sauce, cream cheese and fried. That's not good sushi to me. I cannot...
Read moreUpdate 24.8.25 Went back and even one of the servers were surprised we did. From there it went down hill with the service and the food (the ramen actually made us sick). That said, here is my assessment: when they thought we were tourists here for a week, they were awesome. When we returned (because we are not tourist but foreigners who are currently living in Madrid (aka migrants), the quality of service dropped tremendously. My note - if you come as a tourist (or someone who appears to be a tourist) come here one time only, eat well and enjoy (you will) but don't go back again because as equally good the service was when you.forst went, will not be the same if you try to patronize this establishment. The atmosphere is cool, so if do decide to visit this eatablishment again, lower your expectations and expect sub par service (for me classified as throwing plates on the table, rolling their eyes to your face and someone standing behind you to clock you out). I will leave my first good review below, which was very genuine. I just did not know then I was not welcomed to return for a second or any other time. A great Japanese dining experience in Madrid! The food and the service was incredible, all with an awesome vibe for Friday night. First time to the next time, I look forward to having the tempura...
Read moreFacts: Day: Monday evening, 01/04/2024 Order time via Uber: 10:15 p.m. Reception time 00:45. Price: 114 euros (excluding delivery). Number of people: 6
Wait: 2.5 hours for us, more than 40 minutes for the kind Uber delivery man.
We decide after 1 hour and 45 minutes of waiting to call the restaurant. Response from the restaurant following our call: “We are preparing the order. Thanks for your patience ". After this call, the delivery person will wait more than 30 minutes to get the order.
Estimated food cooking time: 20 minutes total (8 fried (soft) gyozas and 1 chicken and vegetable noodle dish).
There is a real organizational and/or seriousness problem: according to the delivery man, a table of 30 people slowed down the service. It shouldn't be worth such a wait. I've seen better restaurants go under for less than that. We could have canceled, but as they claimed to be preparing the order (since 10:44 p.m. according to the order receipt...), we would not have been able to receive a refund.
Very bad experience, much too expensive for the result (8 soft and lukewarm shrimp gyozas for 18.20 euros, is it a joke? ).
Result: six hungry, tired, and disappointed people. The commercial gesture (1 dessert and 5 salmon makis offered) pales in comparison to the disappointment.
Next time, we'll go to the...
